How often to change bra????

braminger · 19/02/2022 22:47

Ok full confession.

I change my knickers, socks,t shirts and leggings daily.

Dresses,jumpers, trousers every few days.

Cardies, jeans and pjs about once a week.

Yet
I never keep track of how long my bra is on. I'd guess between 5 and 15 days yet it's as close to my skin as socks!! AIBU??

I have one breast and two comfortable bras, that’s it. I’m not stinky and each is good for about four days.

SquirrelG · 20/02/2022 01:18

Once a week - and no they don't smell even then. Somehow I've managed to get through to my 60s without coming to any harm from it!

AlwaysLatte · 20/02/2022 01:23

Every two days.

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 20/02/2022 01:41

@cheekychaplin

I wear a clean bra every day after my shower
Me too. I couldn't wear one two days running. Only ever done it in emergencies and then tried to sponge it down first!
DeoForty · 20/02/2022 01:43

If your reason to wash an item of clothing is that it's been worn, then it'll be daily. I guess 'dirty' is more subjective and variable.

I swear that my socks really don't smell after one wear, I don't have sweaty feet. My young daughters do, and I change their socks daily. But I take mine off when I come back in the house and put them inside my boots and wear them 2-3 times before decency dictates I should change them, but they still don't smell, or feel damp.

My bras wouldn't be noticeably 'worn' until 4 or 5 wears. I usually change bras because I've forgotten where I've left the one I was wearing the day before. I would maybe get a sweaty cleavage if it's above 30 degrees and would change it after a hot day or if it felt damp when I took it off. But I have smallish boobs and 30 degree days are few and far between up here. Agree with the cooking or having been out for dinner/around a smoker. I'd change my bra if it smelled.

I change pants daily. I sleep (pantless) in nightdresses, and change them once a week probably - but usually because they start to look discoloured from face/body cream. And I tend to shower before bed as well as in the morning.

BottleBrushTree · 20/02/2022 01:44

Every day.

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 20/02/2022 01:45

I don't wear one. Haven't for 2 years

Summerfun54321 · 20/02/2022 01:56

Some people have worse body odour than others and need to change their clothes more often. I don’t think there’s a single correct answer.

Fefifobum · 20/02/2022 02:03

Clean knickers and socks every day.
My bra is changed for a clean one when I can be arsed could be the next day, 3 days a week or even a fortnight.
Not through lack of bras I just happen to like the one I’m wearing at that time.

whitewashing · 20/02/2022 04:42

Daily.

braminger · 20/02/2022 06:28

@Silversprinkles

Oh the MN Klaxon will have gone off and all the Clean Freaks will be jumping on to give you a right telling off OP Grin you really should have mentioned you don't sleep in your PJs in your Op, they will be competing for who can post the most Envy faces soon! Wink

I change my bra about every 3-4 days. Large bust, need expensive bras, wash on delicate 30c wash, don't want to wash them every day. They last ok and aren't smelly. Probably because I loathe exercise.

I don't get under boob sweat or rashes though. I would change more often if I did.

15 days must be pushing it though - surely they must be a bit whiffy by then?

😂😂😂😂 yes didn't think about pjs. Never noticed bras smell unless hot weather.

@Didioverstep because women wear them.

I change mine daily, I thought everyone did.

StarlightLady · 20/02/2022 06:33

Daily. It’s underwear.

They don’t get any fancy washing treatment. They go in a delicates bag at 30 or 40 degrees depending on the rest of the load.

I’m a rather top heavy 36F, have about 9 and they last well. I always wear underwired (mainly but not exclusively Panache), tend to restock in January sales and usually by 2 pairs of matching knix with a new bra. Although l aspire to match underneath, it doesn’t always happen though 😂.

ScruffGin · 20/02/2022 06:34

When I was young and thin (size 8-10 although still 32FF) I could easily go a week without changing my bra, since pregnancy it was a daily change. Although lost a bit of weight recently, and can now wear them for 2 days (back down to a size 12 so not huge, but has made a difference)

TOADfan · 20/02/2022 06:36

Personally I don't keep track. I wear a bra until the sniff test tells me to get a new one.

cultkid · 20/02/2022 06:37

Maybe every 2-3 days but I'm pregnant at the mo so I am wearing softer less clingy bras
If I am not pregnant I wash them every day 🙈

I change my pyjamas every single night though

itsgettingweird · 20/02/2022 06:37

I have various bras. Some shoulder and a few cross back.

I'll wear whatever one works under my clothing including style and colour.

I also own only own 5 decent bras.

They probably get worn 5/6 times before being washed and that could mean for a few days in a row and then chucked in with underwear wash or it may get worn twice a week for a few weeks before getting washed.

merrymelodies · 20/02/2022 06:41

Once a week.

PupInAPram · 20/02/2022 06:59

I have 8 non underwired cheap as chips supermarket bras. They are super comfortable. Just like knickers, clean one each day. If they start to sag, I buy more, although they last just as long as expensive wired bras. As a side note, underwire is the work of the devil 😂

MaryBeardsShoes · 20/02/2022 07:09

I used to be the same as you, then I tried not wearing a bra as everyone else said how amazing it was. Massive sweat patches after about half an hour 🤢 so now I change every couple of days.

LimeSegment · 20/02/2022 07:27

I also change bra every 1-2 weeks. I don't find they get dirty as quick as other clothes, I think it's the fabric. Being made of nylon, elastane and other plasticy type fabrics, they seem to be relatively unaffected by sweat, similar to technical fabrics used in hiking and sports wear.

LimeSegment · 20/02/2022 07:28

But I wear my pjs for a week and I do wear them overnight. So what do I know.

Gonnagetgoing · 20/02/2022 07:31

Every 3 wears (days). Got new bras recently and thinking about hand washing? Is delicate cycle on machine the same? Sports bras after every wear or day of workouts/runs.

Inthesameboatatmo · 20/02/2022 07:32

I've got big tits and even in the winter the sweat underneath them stinks by the end of the day when I have a shower or bath. You can't sweat that much then surely because otherwise the bras would be walking to the washing machine on their own after that many days.
