Ok full confession.

I change my knickers, socks,t shirts and leggings daily.

Dresses,jumpers, trousers every few days.

Cardies, jeans and pjs about once a week.

Yet
I never keep track of how long my bra is on. I'd guess between 5 and 15 days yet it's as close to my skin as socks!! AIBU??

@whitewashing grow the fuck up

cheekychaplin · 20/02/2022 19:47

I only do one wash a week!

That's great. There are 5 of us in this house so we do more than that.

eldora · 20/02/2022 19:53

It also makes me shudder for the environment. One of my relatives who lives alone puts her washing machine on daily with a half load (or not even that tbh) of whatever she's worn that day plus towels, I find it really excessive.

I know, it’s almost amusing the inordinate amount of pride people take in bunging clothes in a machine to be swished around.

I like fresh clothes as much as the next person but my body is not so offensive to me that it needs to be clothed in freshly washed clothes every day.

🤷‍♀️ Whatever…

whitewashing · 20/02/2022 20:14
@whitewashing your ideas of basic hygiene are massively off what basic hygiene is though
In your opinion. We’ll have to agree to disagree on that.

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 20/02/2022 20:18

@whitewashing well no actually it's not my opinion. It's actually correct. NHS, clothing brands etc all support the fact we wash and wash clothes too much. Sooooo you can disagree, but it's not with just me.

I’ll keep clean my way, you do it your way. Sooooo, I’ll disagree with you just the same…

LondonQueen · 20/02/2022 20:23

Yuck! I change it daily, I have 8 bras, one for each day of the week plus a spare in case wash day is delayed for any reason. Maybe you're not as sweaty as me but mine would be gross by day 2.

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 20/02/2022 20:25

@whitewashing don't give a hoot what you do. But I do think you're wrong to use the term 'basic hygiene' when it's not.

I care not a jot!

DelurkingAJ · 20/02/2022 20:27

Daily, wired, fairly expensive but bought over time and hand washed to stop them dying too early (you can tell as the knickers last much less well as they go in the machine). I can smell my perfume and deodorant on them by the evening. I also find if I don’t I get spots across my back where the band is. Bra, knickers, socks and tshirt clean daily. Everything else…often 10 days or until I realise they’re muddy or smell.

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 20/02/2022 20:27

@whitewashing you obviously do though duck or you wouldn't have commented and you wouldn't keep replying to me 🙂

whitewashing · 20/02/2022 20:29

Or you to me ‘duck’ 🙂

I just like having the last word. Especially when I am right 😜
whitewashing · 20/02/2022 20:32

Oh! Me too!

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 20/02/2022 20:33

Looks like a lot of people are going to be pissed off with the way this threads going then hey!

whitewashing · 20/02/2022 20:37

Well, don’t take it personally.

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 20/02/2022 20:38

You're basically saying anyone who doesn't do as you do doesn't meet basic hygiene standards and you expect people not to take it personally or correct you?

whitewashing · 20/02/2022 20:42

No.

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 20/02/2022 20:42

So what then? Why say it?

ufucoffee · 20/02/2022 20:46

@WingingItSince1973

Change bras every other day. I wear 2 pairs of knickers a day. Always put a clean pair on for sleeping.
Why would you wear knickers for sleeping?
WhiteJellycat · 20/02/2022 20:54

How much do people spend on bras? I have a few from M&S that are around £17 that last forever even washing in the machine and a few from supermarkets. I'm in a size that's non standard. I have around 10-15 bras. Maybe I'm weird.

ChickenStripper · 20/02/2022 20:56

@ufucoffee why does it matter why she wears knickers for sleeping? 🙄

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 20/02/2022 20:57

@ufucoffe I always wear knickers for sleeping. I don't feel right without them. Plus if I wear pjs I won't need to wash them after every wear.

No need to be snippy! I was only saying that I can't wash them every day.
