Never heard of the word which is the answer to Wordle today. Anyone else the same?

Got it in second guess

I’d heard of it but I can’t say it’s a word I’ve ever used. I know what it is.

It's more common in America, and if you are into DIY.

Got it 3rd guess.

It’s very American. I know it because I live in the US but I don’t think it’s a well known word in the UK.

It was the bane of my life decorating, but I first learned it in a historical naval fiction context...

I put it in feeling a bit unsure what it was but thinking I'd vaguely heard the term. Also I knew the first and last letter for definite and 2 of the middle letters so there wasn't anything else it could be! I did google it afterwards to be sure about the meaning.

Yes I had to guess it OP having got the first four letters quite quickly! Maybe it's another US thing like spelling of humor...

I got it by fluke but i've seen it at homebase etc

My word yesterday was a greek word which I only got by guessing all the possible (non word) permutations I had left with letters left until I got the answer! I had 4 correct letters and still didn’t know what the last letter was until I got to that last letter on qwerty keypad!

However I looked on twitter last night and other people had a different word (weird)

So today, with one correct letter from my starting word, I guessed at yesterdays ‘other’ word and it’s correct so I got it in 2 (personal best 🤣)

@ILoveAllRainbowsx I think everyone else is trying to avoid saying the word in case of spoilers!

I’m familiar with the word. I do think it has got harder lately though; double letters, repeated letters, American spellings…

I have heard of it and knew its used in DIY. I wouldn't have been able to tell you what, exactly, it was.

I knew it from ships rather than DIY.

My family were shipbuilders so familiar word.

It's used in boats :)

Had to look up its meaning after getting it on my last guess!
