AIBU to not know today's Wordle answer?

Never heard of the word which is the answer to Wordle today. Anyone else the same?

I think they've got harder recently. But today's was a word I'm familiar with. Got it in 5- same word with different first letter in 4, annoyingly. Same as the other day - guessed joist and foist before settling on moist!

Well I messed up today. Got all the letters apart from one. There were loads of words it could be and I guess them all wrong.

Got Wordly in 4 though.

Today's is a simple enough word, but so many options. I got it in 6! 🙄

I think it has become more difficult to get it in 2 or 3 like I used to.

How do you get it show that? I can't find where to blank out the letters.

I’m a newbie too so had to Google it, you go to Settings (the graph icon)? and it shows you the the score with blanked out letters.

For those seeking proof. 3 is the best I've ever done, I almost got 2 twice but I was a letter or two off.

Took 4 for me today. Had a lucky enough second word which helped

I’ve heard of it and knew what it was. Got the word on 3rd guess after getting 4 of the letters by a fluke on the second guess.

4 today, 3rd was a letter out. Could have been so many others, I got lucky

I am a day behind and not sure how to sort it! I got the Greek word three days ago then the other word from that day on the next day and today I got yesterday's word! My husband is in the same situation.

The NYT haven't make it harder. The inventor of Wordle chose all the answers for the next few years. The NYT are using the same list but have removed a few very hard words (such as the obscure Greek one from a couple of days ago). The list of answers is stored in the source code (it is very easy to see them if you want). If your browser hasn't refreshed the source code files you will be using the original list, otherwise you will be using the new list with a few words missing. This is why some people have a different word for the day to other peoples.
