Neighbour stole my delivery?

Have NC as I don't want this linked to my other posts. Could be outing.

I ordered a £600 item online. Normally when I order expensive items I have to give a code, which is sent via email, to the delivery driver.

I was out today and got an email to say my package had been delivered. There was a picture included, which was very obviously my neighbour.

I thought, great, that's fine! We often take parcels in for each other. When I went to collect it from her she denied all knowledge. I was a bit flustered trying to take the dogs/ shopping inside so I just said "oh okay there must be some mistake" and went into my house.

Now I've looked closer at the pic just to make sure and it's definitely her house, she must have jt!

What would you do? I don't want to accuse her of stealing, but.... ?

She's replied saying that I "should not accuse people of things without evidence." And that she's asked DH and he doesn't have it Hmm she then said that the picture could be from anywhere and she doesn't believe that's the picture I was sent.

WHAT???

'Ok, no problem. I'll contact the police to report it stolen & let them have the photo'.

givemepiece · 31/01/2022 20:10

Oh shit....

You've got to call the delivery company.
Did they not tell you what number they left it at?

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 31/01/2022 20:10

Yep, no mistake, she stolen it.

MooSakah · 31/01/2022 20:11

Eek! I'd just go to the retailer

HelloFrostyMorning · 31/01/2022 20:11

She's just text me again saying that the picture I sent her was from three months ago when she took in my pet food delivery. It was not!

She can fuck off. Tell her no problem courier has told you to report stolen to the police so you'll proceed. Fucking bitch I'd be livid
Eleanr · 31/01/2022 20:13

@Avocadoandlemons

What was the item anyway?! Intrigued!
A PP had the right idea. Very similar to a Dyson product where the label is all over the box.

Where does she think you got the pic of the inside of her house from 🤦‍♀️

She’s tried it, and now she’s doubling down

YellowLemonz · 31/01/2022 20:13

I think I'd also screenshot the email to prove it was today and her

UneFoisAuChalet · 31/01/2022 20:14

Off chance you have the pet food delivery pic? Send that to her and say ‘no, this is the pic.’

JustOneMore40 · 31/01/2022 20:14

What a bitch !

LouiseBelchersBunnyEars · 31/01/2022 20:14

Screen record your phone showing you clicking the link and the date.

Then say you’re calling the police

LittleMG · 31/01/2022 20:14

Oh dear you’ve got a loon. I’d go back to the company and see about this picture. I reckon she’s got it. Was it the sort of this only you would want like for example if you have horses it might be a new saddle, or is it something anyone would want like a nice new tv or something?

Thewoolmill · 31/01/2022 20:14

Report to the delivery company and the police. Keep an eye out on Facebook market place/sites as they might try and flog it oh and eBay as well. What a shitty neighbour!

gettingolderandgrumpy · 31/01/2022 20:14

Call her bluff say no problem I’ve told delivery company who are insistent it’s been delivered and they will log it with the police .

Eleanr · 31/01/2022 20:14

Shock what a CF!!

BoodleBug51 · 31/01/2022 20:14

I had an expensive delivery stolen at Christmas. The delivery man left it with the man who lives next to our work address and took a photo that had his feet in (he wears distinctive trainers) next to his front door.

He of course denied all knowledge, and I couldn't be arsed to argue. I reported it to the company I'd bought from and they dealt with it. Revenge was sweet when I had an Amazon parcel for him last week and hid it. In the Grundon bin.

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 31/01/2022 20:14

Let her know you've contacted the police.

JustOneMore40 · 31/01/2022 20:14

Yes and tell her she has till a certain time to ‘find’ it and leave on your doorstep or you’re going to the police
BringBackCoffeeCreams · 31/01/2022 20:15

Well at least she's admitted it's a photo of her taking in a parcel. The date stamp should clear up the rest of her bullshit.

Mooloolabababy · 31/01/2022 20:15

Did neighbour have to sign for it? Surely if the parcel was worth that much then it would have been signed for so the courier should have a copy of the signature of whoever signed for it.

FelicityPike · 31/01/2022 20:16

What an absolute CF,!
