Say you went to a sibling's wedding where the bride had handmade all the favours and they were various little felt animals.

The bride gave you a cow, your OH a horse, and your

Is this serious?

VickyEadieofThigh · 21/01/2022 15:25

The person offended by this is deranged.

Ikona · 21/01/2022 15:26

I wouldn't be offended. If I were the bride I'd probably avoid giving a woman a cow unless I knew they specifically liked cows, but even so it's not a big deal. It doesn't sound like anything bad was meant by the felt animals.

DrSbaitso · 21/01/2022 15:26

And to confirm, you actually ruined her wedding day over this, and she still gave you jewellery and a voucher?

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 21/01/2022 15:26

I mean aren’t all animals offensive if you’re reaching.

This is a reverse?

Leslienope · 21/01/2022 15:26

This.
forlornlorna · 21/01/2022 15:26

Yeah the person offended is a knob

I'm the bride not the guest in this scenario

PAFMO · 21/01/2022 15:27

Of course not.
Because I'm not, as pps have said, utterly deranged.

2pinkginsplease · 21/01/2022 15:27

Over reaction!

However who gives their guests felt animals as favours? Plain weird!

CityMumma78 · 21/01/2022 15:27

OMG 😆
Whoever has taken offence has got some serious issues!!

Westpoint · 21/01/2022 15:28

Clearly a reverse......

iklboo · 21/01/2022 15:28

Guest is bonkers. A reach Mr Tickle would be proud of that you were calling her & her family animals.

girafferaffle · 21/01/2022 15:30

I want to learn how to make them so would be delighted!

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 21/01/2022 15:30

The person who was offended is nuts!

ItIsABumperCropThisYear · 21/01/2022 15:31

No, I would not be offended. Seems very overreacting.

Dixiechickonhols · 21/01/2022 15:33

Guest sounds hard work. Assuming all favours were similar eg everyone got a felt animal. If all other ladies got a flower and she got a cow then that’s different.
She was odd to confront you. I’ll be honest and say homemade farm animal favours sound quite niche but I’d assume they are personal to you eg you do crafting or are farmers etc. Even if she thought odd she could have left on table or thrown away at home.

WhatScratch · 21/01/2022 15:37

I’ve found her spirit animal

Yes, I tried to make ones I thought people would like - this guest likes taking their baby to the farm/zoo and the baby is more interested in animals than people so I figured it was a good idea. Examples of others, a friend with a fish tank got a fish, another friend who likes escargots got a little snail, someone else got a minature of their dog. DH got a mushroom with eyeballs on it. They were just silly little keepsakes you could stick on a keyring. I do also live by a farm and am a massive animal lover and love my arts and crafts. But they made so many people laugh and they were poked into button holes and pinned to bags, stuck on hats. The photos were great. No one else made any comments though, like no one said 'hey are you calling me a whale'.

If anyone is wanting to learn I recommend YouTube, that's how I pick up most craft skills.

She's crazy. Best to distance yourself from her madness immediately.

Also, a horse is not an ass (that's a donkey), so she's not only crazy, she's also not very intelligent.

There's always one 🙄
RaskolnikovsGarret · 21/01/2022 15:45

You poor thing. How dare your sibling make you feel so upset? What you did was really sweet. Flowers

SNUG2022 · 21/01/2022 15:45

If the one given to me was a cow, I'd think you were calling me a cow. I wouldn't ruin your wedding, but would think WTF. I wouldn't think ass and pig for a child meant anything.

arethereanyleftatall · 21/01/2022 15:45

I think she does have a tiny point I'm afraid, although the explanation of the baby liking farmyard animals should explain it. But, you've given her family a pig and a cow, which are well known insults, and no one else has anything like that - mushrooms, fishes etc are not insults. Depending on your relationship...ie if there is constant underlying tension and passive aggressive behaviour from both sides, then this could definitely be construed as insulting. If there's not, and you consider you had a mutually lovely relationship, then the explanation of the farmyard animals should have sufficed.
