I’m going to a family members wedding in May, WIBU to wear this? Is it too white? www.phase-eight.com/product/verena-spot-maxi-dress-220451630.html#q=Polka&is=false&sz=60&start=0&isSecondPage=false&pid=220451630&pos=22
Am I being unreasonable?

I think it depends if you'll wear a jacket/hat/bag. In all honesty whenever I've gone to a wedding I've avoided white completely just to be on the safe side.
It's a lovely dress though!!x
NashvilleQueen · 19/01/2022 13:03
It's lovely and personally I think it's fine. Others will be along to say no although I've never seen a polka dot bride myself.
FindmeuptheFarawaytree · 19/01/2022 13:06
I like it, but is there nothing out there that's non white that you could choose instead? I just think it's someone's wedding and not worth the risk of any bad feeling on the day (even if it is unreasonable!).

Don't wear a white dress to a wedding. It's just bad etiquette.
bombombo · 19/01/2022 13:07
Even with the pattern, I just think you don't wear white to a wedding personally. There's so many other colours to choose from, why pick white? I know others will disagree though because the dress obviously doesn't look "bridal".
Fatgalslim · 19/01/2022 13:07
I think it's fine, different if it was plain white but it's not. I like it
Verite1 · 19/01/2022 13:07
Gorgeous dress. Am tempted myself!
ItsDisneyBitch · 19/01/2022 13:07
I think it’s lovely.
334bu · 19/01/2022 13:08
Wear a black jacket and accessories and it will be fine.
Nishkin · 19/01/2022 13:08
Gorgeous- can’t see why it would be a problem
irregularegular · 19/01/2022 13:09
I think it's absolutely fine! It's a nice dress, perfectly wedding appropriate, and I wouldn't think twice if I saw someone in it. The idea that white is offensive at a wedding seems so old fashioned! If you are at all worried that the bride might be sensitive about these things then you could ask her....
5foot5 · 19/01/2022 13:09
It's lovely but I think it is too white for a wedding
Ancientdreams · 19/01/2022 13:10
I think it’s probably fine but it is very long and therefore a bit bridal aside from the colour.
gobbledygoook · 19/01/2022 13:11
I think that it's obviously got polka dots on so not totally white, but is very long and wide skirted (both of which I'd personally avoid!).
Tbh if you're questioning the dress, my instinct would be don't wear it.
RB68 · 19/01/2022 13:12
No way is it bridal - if you are really not sure ask the bride. Perhaps bright coloured or pastel accessories or black as others have mentioned would change it, no way you would be mistaken for the bride in my view.
unfollowme · 19/01/2022 13:13
I think this dress is far too simple, something you might wear on holiday. I don't personally mind it being white as it's nowhere like a wedding dress especially with the polka dots but think it's far too simple and I would imagine you wearing a bikini underneath heading to the beach.
Blossomtoes · 19/01/2022 13:15
@NashvilleQueen
I wore polka dots for my wedding. 🤷♀️
2pinkginsplease · 19/01/2022 13:16
I love it though I’m a huge fan of spots! Love just bought a new sporty bag.
Go for it.
I couldn’t have cared less who wore white to my wedding, then again, I had a gold dress 😂😂😂
Tabitha888 · 19/01/2022 13:16
It's a lovely dress, but for an afternoon party or something else. It's really not suitable for the wedding. It's not about you it's about the bride. Just don't wear white.
Excited101 · 19/01/2022 13:16
It’s lovely! Perfect for a wedding
IwantToDatePicard · 19/01/2022 13:16
Too white for my liking, does it come in a different colour?
piglet81 · 19/01/2022 13:16
Lovely dress but I wouldn’t wear it as a wedding guest - even with the obvious black polka dots it’s long and white so risks putting the bride’s nose out of joint.
LakeShoreD · 19/01/2022 13:18
It’s long and white so I’d say no for a wedding and it also looks more like a holiday sun dress than an occasion dress. If you’re going away this summer I’d buy it for that but I’d find something else for the wedding!
freelions · 19/01/2022 13:19
Do you already own the dress or are you looking to buy it?
If you already have it then I think it could work for a wedding with right (non white!) accessories
If you are looking to buy a dress specifically for the wedding then I wouldn't personally choose a white one when there are so may other options to choose from
TurtleBackUp · 19/01/2022 13:19
I love it. Wear with a jacket.
