Just that really - I'm seeing more and more newspaper reports where women are being implicated in weird sexual crimes and the you see the picture and it's obviously a man.

Now I totally get that if someone is transitioning it's polite to call them by their preferred name etc - but AIBU to think that some of these criminals are just taking the piss?

YANBU. It's utterly sickening. I have zero respect for people who claim to be good liberals then close their eyes and ears to this happening. Ditto women's sport.

Lesbians that I know who are on dating sites repeatedly get sent messages from people who are blatantly men. It’s really grim and reminiscent of men who tell lesbians that they just haven’t met the right man yet. Except now supposedly progressive people also tell them they are bigots if they won’t sleep with men. Jfc.

The fact that heterosexual men aren’t targeted in the same way as lesbians says a lot. If TWAW then why aren’t straight men seen as bigoted for not wanting to sleep with them? Why is it only lesbians who get it in the neck?

But age? Surely this person can't identity as 5 forever? What happens if they want to buy alcohol? Did they expect to be treated in the juvenile courts?

If it's okay to "identify" as the opposite sex, why not as somebody ten or twenty years younger? If a man identified as a ten-year-old boy, at least he would actually have been a ten-year-old boy and might remember it. He's got no idea what it's like to be a women.

If it's okay to "identify" as the opposite sex, why isn't it okay to identify as black, if you're white? It ought to make more sense, because most of us are a mixture of races, whereas nobody is a mixture of sexes.

and as i said, how does this work in real life with age restrictions? I support a transgender colleague so am aware of the hoops (legal) he has had to jump through....name change by deed poll, but what about age? how does it work legally?

When a 5 year old boy who was molested by a man is now gaslit and forced to commit Perjury in a court of law by being told they have to refer to the male pedophile as a female (as has actually happened in an actual case last year), you know things have gotten very sick indeed.

They should do (as some reports do) include an '...formerly known as....', certainly in cases where the person has committed crimes under a former name.

Anyone can change their name. Women do it on marriage all the time. I don't see them referring to it as 'jumping through hoops'.

Because there is no hoop big enough to justify that. They are entitled to sex based rights. The same as any other man. They are entitled to protection from harassment. The same as any other minority.

And women have and are being required in court, to call those men who’ve attacked them (including rapists) “she”.

See the case of Mara McClachan about 4or 5 years ago. She was assaulted at Hyde Park Corner by a self-identified trans woman. At the magistrates hearing of the assault case, and appearing as a witness, Ms McClachan was threatened with contempt of court if she didn’t call the (legal) man who attacked her as “she”. The man who attacked her does not, as far as I know, have a GRC, therefore it is entirely legally correct to refer to that person as she. But Ms McClachan was required by the magistrate to refer to the man who attacked her as she.

I feel for the victims and the women in prison who suffer because of this utter nonsense. Why do the feelings of these depraved men matter more than everyone else's?

A man who commits a violent sexual crime gets locked up with women afterwards....I honestly cannot fathom how we got here tbh
