This morning around 9am when I got to my car it had a soked note on the windscreen basically accusing us of intimidating someone's wife Confused

Nothing else, no idea who it is meant to be from, it's put me on edge all day even though I know I've not done anything, I barely see anyone in the street let alone speak to them!

AIBU....don't leave notes on people's cars

Welshmaenad · 28/12/2021 14:43

I would just assume they had the wrong car. How odd.

CovidCorvid · 28/12/2021 14:50

Are you parked outside someone else’s house? Some bonkers people might decide that’s intimidating? 🤷‍♀️

Mumoblue · 28/12/2021 14:54

That’s weird. Confused
Obviously they’ve got the wrong car.
Are you on any kind of local Facebook group? You could make a post about it, though I’d leave it vague if someone is potentially being intimidated.

sst1234 · 28/12/2021 15:07

People who put notes through letter boxes and on cars should be ignored. They are not brave enough to approach you, mostly because they know they are annoying and weird.

Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 28/12/2021 15:07

Just puts me on edge though, there is only 4/5 cars that park in that bit that we park, I just hate confrontation!

OP posts:
PAFMO · 28/12/2021 15:11

Does anyone else drive your car?
Do you live with someone who might have been obnoxious to a woman?
It's very odd. I'd be concerned too.

Floralnomad · 28/12/2021 15:15

Just ignore it . We once had a very rude letter out through our door basically saying that I had ripped someone off whilst cleaning for them and how they wanted their money back and had told all their friends and neighbours to not employ me - I’m not a cleaner ( I was a nurse at the time ) , never have been a cleaner . I went round to the house to ask them what it was all about and basically the cleaner drove a similar car to one of ours and had said she lived in the area I lived so they had just driven round , identified the car ( wrongly ) and put the offending letter through the door .

Utter shite! My drive is constantly being blocked by people who are too lazy and arrogant to find somewhere else to park. If I know where they live or are visiting, I will knock at the door. Failing that I will leave a note on the car. My bravery is not in question. My tolerance for being unable to use the drive I own, at my convenience, has long gone. If you think that makes me annoying and weird then I will be forced to conclude you are one of the idiots who park across my drive.

Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 28/12/2021 15:49

My husband also drives the car, but is in a worse state than me over it than me, he wouldn't say boo to a ghost

I've put a note back on the car basically saying I have no clue what you are on about or who you are! Time will tell I suppose

Boo to a ghost

Sparklesocks · 28/12/2021 16:25

I wouldn’t be too concerned because if they were as tough as they thought they were then they’d confront you directly - not leave an anonymous pass agg note on a car like a schoolchild. If they have issues (and it sounds like a case of mistaken identity) then they can knock on your door like an actual grown up.

Has the drive blocking ceased due to your notes?
Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 28/12/2021 16:27

It's a layby, not parked in front of anyones house directly and been parking there for 6 months

I agree, it's hardly adult-like unless it's about a parking issue for example and you genuinely don't know where they live and can't catch them in the street.

Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 28/12/2021 16:48

Our car has now been blocked in Confused
I don't even know who's cars they are

OP posts:
Babdoc · 28/12/2021 16:52

It’s “boo to a goose”, OP, not ghost. It would actually be quite brave to say boo to a ghost!

Gardeningcreature · 28/12/2021 16:53

Getyourjinglebellsinarow · 28/12/2021 16:53

Put a note on their car?

Finfintytint · 28/12/2021 16:54

How have they blocked you in in a lay-by?

Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 28/12/2021 17:04

Bumpers are basically touching at both the front and back of my car, they have used 2 cars

I've always said boo to a ghost! Grin
OP posts:
Finfintytint · 28/12/2021 17:06

Are you sure it’s a lay-by and not a turning circle?

Chikapu · 28/12/2021 17:08

I've always said boo to a ghost!

Ghost's say boo to people, people say boo to geese.

StoneofDestiny · 28/12/2021 17:08

I'd call the police if I was you - take a picture too. If the note writer has two car drivers to organise and intimidate you, I'd be worried enough to report this as intimidation and threat. They will be able to trace the owners of the vehicles.
