Re note on car

Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 28/12/2021 14:36

This morning around 9am when I got to my car it had a soked note on the windscreen basically accusing us of intimidating someone's wife Confused

Nothing else, no idea who it is meant to be from, it's put me on edge all day even though I know I've not done anything, I barely see anyone in the street let alone speak to them!

AIBU....don't leave notes on people's cars

OP posts:
SimpsonsXmasBoogie · 28/12/2021 23:34

I'd contact the police. Sounds like an idiot with an axe to grind. Concerning combination.

LondonQueen · 28/12/2021 23:53

@HeyArnoldHey

Any update?? I'm so intrigued and worried Shock
Me too!
Yuledo · 29/12/2021 00:04

Sounds worrying.

jetadore · 29/12/2021 01:38

Don’t expect ‘them’ to read your reply on your car. Leave a new not on the car that’s blocking yours in saying “why the fuck have you blocked me in? I have no idea what your note is on about. Here’s my address, come and talk about it properly (you idiots)” not in so many words

NinaDefoe · 29/12/2021 06:48

What happened?

Brackenandbramble · 29/12/2021 10:13

No updates? I've been thinking about this, seems quite sinister. Hope OP is okay

Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 29/12/2021 10:54

I typed an update, must have left the page too quickly

So nothing happened, I went out took pictures etc, I decided I thought I could get the car out so this morning I went and got the car out the space, took about 10 minutes of manoeuvring but I did it so DH has taken it to work

Doubt he will park there tonight

OP posts:
Bushkin · 29/12/2021 10:58

That is so strange! Hope you get an explanation OP

SnickettyLemon · 29/12/2021 11:26

So basically a person who is complaining about intimidation is now intimidating you. Twats!

Ohfudgeme · 29/12/2021 11:29

Any updates.

PheasantsNest · 29/12/2021 11:59

How did it go from bumpers touching to you getting out of the space? Baffled.

asnippersdream · 29/12/2021 12:14

@PheasantsNest

How did it go from bumpers touching to you getting out of the space? Baffled.
Exactly. Surely you can't manoeuvre if both numbers are touching the other cars. There's no space.
AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 29/12/2021 12:24

OP had already said she thought the car could be got out of the space with a lot of manoeuvring:

Tue 28-Dec-21 19:46:01

"I think with a million back and fourth a ton of manoeuvring we will get the car out"

skellingtonboot · 29/12/2021 12:51

I think with a million back and fourth a ton of manoeuvring we will get the car out

That wouldn't be possible if they had used 2 cars to block her in and the bumpers were basically touching (which is what the OP said originally)

Both versions can't be true. Unless OP owns a hover car.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 29/12/2021 12:59

Or perhaps was looking out of the window when she thought they were touching, and discovered when she went out to take photographs so those would be available for the police if needed that they were in fact a little away at each end.

I should have quoted her entire post, shouldn't I:

Tue 28-Dec-21 19:46:01

I've been out and got pictures, I think with a million back and fourth a ton of manoeuvring we will get the car out so feel a bit better, thankful for front sensors on the car

(The way to find the OP's posts in their entirety is to click on "See all" under any one of them, and looking for the one with that time and date isn't hard at all as a result.)

eveningbubble · 29/12/2021 13:24

ahhh disappointing, so you just randomly got blocked in. Or else they are free to intimidate you as they please. I can't feel sorry anymore, for people who won't stand up for themselves.

skellingtonboot · 29/12/2021 14:32

@AskingQuestionsAllTheTime

No, you didn't need to quote the entire post.

I have read the entire thread - and I am also fully aware of the "see all" facility.

Tue 28-Dec-21 17:04:12 Bumpers are basically touching at both the front and back of my car, they have used 2 cars

I am not psychic and didn't know that "basically touching" wasn't supposed to mean anything of the sort.

turnaroundtime · 29/12/2021 14:41

Desperation know who and why

CovidCorvid · 29/12/2021 14:43

Basically touching means not touching but very close. So I would take it to mean a few inches only in either direction. Which is possible to slowly get out of.

WalkingOnTheCracks · 29/12/2021 14:45

@Monpetitpoisson

Boo to a ghost
The malapropism (nearly) makes so much more sense than the idiom, I’m wondering whether it’s the origin of the phrase.
Doomscrolling · 29/12/2021 15:19

@IncompleteSenten, that kind of pedantic knowledge is what I’m here for, and I don’t mean that sarcastically.

Love the origins of phrases.

astoundedgoat · 29/12/2021 15:22

Geese are obviously scarier than ghosts. I won hundreds of points the other day out for a walk with a friend and all our kids when two geese were blocking the path and gearing up for a good hiss when I took dd's (colourful) coat off her and flapped it vigorously, scaring them away and giving a runner the fright of her life (but also saving her from the geese too, so was forgiven).

V interested in the outcome of this thread though!

Me too. 😁

And yes, geese are scary fuckers. There were some at my aunt and uncles farm and Jesus H they were bastards.
