Re note on car

This morning around 9am when I got to my car it had a soked note on the windscreen basically accusing us of intimidating someone's wife Confused

Nothing else, no idea who it is meant to be from, it's put me on edge all day even though I know I've not done anything, I barely see anyone in the street let alone speak to them!

AIBU....don't leave notes on people's cars

So, before they blocked you in, you put a note explaining politely that they had got the wrong person and giving your address so they could come and speak to you about it?

Yet the response was to block you in. What on earth did you say in the note? Are you 100% sure it is deliberate blocking and not just people squeezing into spaces?
I take it you can’t see the car from your house?

You should definitely get a dash cam if this doesn’t get sorted out by you or the police today. But I agree that you should call the police now you have both an intimidating note and what seems like clear intimidating behaviour.

When do you next need to use the car?

IVbumble · 28/12/2021 18:42

It's always fine to say boo to a ghost or a goose but never a swan - they'll break your arm y'know.

ApolloandDaphne · 28/12/2021 18:45

I wouldn't have put my address on a note! That's asking for trouble.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 28/12/2021 18:47

I'm fairly sure no swan has broken anyone's arm in living human memory. I suppose if you had brittle bones it might be possible, but hitting you hard enough to break your arm would damage the swan even worse.

(Yes, that's a place-holder to make sure I can find this thread again, I want to know what happens!)

pinkmews · 28/12/2021 18:49

I'd love a diagram right now.

Or a picture.

Do you have lots of neighbours? Do you know your next doors? Could you ask them?

CraftyGin · 28/12/2021 18:51

Just go to the police. Stop trying to sort it out yourself.

EffYouSeeKaye · 28/12/2021 18:55

Here for the ghost vs goose derail.

starfishofbethlehem · 28/12/2021 18:57

My husband also drives the car, but is in a worse state than me over it than me,

Perhaps because he knows something...

MondeoFan · 28/12/2021 18:59

I think it's goose not ghost. It's probably meant to be ghost as that makes more sense but everyone I know says goose!

Hope you get to the bottom of it. The car problem that is not the ghost v goose

Livelovebehappy · 28/12/2021 19:04

@sst1234

People who put notes through letter boxes and on cars should be ignored. They are not brave enough to approach you, mostly because they know they are annoying and weird.
Usually the sort of people who park across other people’s drives, or take part in other inconsiderate behaviour, are often unpleasant people who love confrontation, and aren’t the sort of people you can approach and rationalise with face to face. As the saying goes, you can’t argue with stupid, so best to leave notes. That way, they can always get someone else to read and explain the note to them, if they’re unable to read.
KittenCatcher · 28/12/2021 19:08

I would ask the police for advice, have you kept their note for evidence and taken photo of the blocked car. Even if they have got you mixed up with someone else this is harrassment. Has anything happened at work, while either of you have been driving or parking.

borisisaknob · 28/12/2021 19:11

Oh this is not nice OP I hope you get to the bottom of it 💐

PegasusReturns · 28/12/2021 19:11

Go out and get photographs, then call police. Don’t wait until someone comes knocking on your door.

yeah this is one of theose apocryphal stories
olympicsrock · 28/12/2021 19:13

They do not sound nice abs clearly have an issue with your parking. I do actually think 111 is a good shout

Definitely. Cowards.

ManchesterTartwithCustard · 28/12/2021 19:14

Mistaken identity. I would be hovering, waiting for an apology.

WeatherwaxOn · 28/12/2021 19:18

OP said in the first post that they were accused of intimidating someone's wife. Everyone is fixating on the lay-by parking.
It isn't clear if the blocking in us to do with supposed poor/inconsiderate parking or the alleged intimidation.

Cheetosyummy · 28/12/2021 19:20

I don’t get this. Is this your road you got the note in?
Similar happened to me few years ago.
Once a week I occasionally park in a road when I visit an elderly relative- usually I park outside the relatives house but sometimes there are not spaces so I park two roads away on a public lay bay parallel parking ( non blocking anyone)
Once I parked there twice in a row and I got a note on my screen saying; don’t park here , I can’t get my dogs out!
I could not work out what that means- the road is very wide even if someone of one of the houses around are coming off from they driveway, it should not be an issue as LOTS of spaces everywhere, to turn etc..
I don’t park there anymore in that particular spot - they are lots of other spots but I’m still puzzled what the note meant.

Joystir59 · 28/12/2021 19:25

Hope you get to the bottom of it. Hope you've kept the note in case you need to involve the police. Hopefully you won't need to.

maddening · 28/12/2021 19:25

It must be mistaken identity, can you see the cars from your house?

Username7521 · 28/12/2021 19:26

Oh OP I hope that you’re ok! This does seem like a hugh escalation

Could they have meant that they can't park next to you and fully open their boot to get the dogs out? That's the only thing I can think. But can't see how it's their 'right' to be able to do that anyway.
Brackenandbramble · 28/12/2021 19:31

Very strange, interested to hear the outcome. I hope you're okay OP

Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 28/12/2021 19:37

So to answer a few questions

I put the note on the car before we got blocked in thinking that they would see it on my window and if they wanted to discuss they could come speak with us this was around mid day today, when I looked out the window after bathing my DC around 5 pm we where blocked it

100% sure my husband has done nothing, he has never confronted anyone in his life

I can see my car it's across from my house and it's 100 % for parking in and my neighbour does it too
