Re note on car

This morning around 9am when I got to my car it had a soked note on the windscreen basically accusing us of intimidating someone's wife Confused

Nothing else, no idea who it is meant to be from, it's put me on edge all day even though I know I've not done anything, I barely see anyone in the street let alone speak to them!

AIBU....don't leave notes on people's cars

OP posts:
RememberThePenguins · 28/12/2021 17:30

Call the police OP. This is harassment.

BigFatLiar · 28/12/2021 17:31

Log it before it escalates

Electriq · 28/12/2021 17:32

Another vote for contacting the police

MajorCarolDanvers · 28/12/2021 17:32

I'd seriously think of calling the police and reporting this threat.

Scarydinosaurs · 28/12/2021 17:33

Call the police and tell them your blocked in, the note and explain it’s mistaken identity.

Can you see your car from your house? If you go out to your car does anyone come out? Have you tried asking your neighbours?

Skiptheheartsandflowers · 28/12/2021 17:34

Rightly or wrongly, someone doesn't like the way you are parking your car. You could go and knock on doors and ask if they know whose the cars are, and say you're going to call the police when they deny any knowledge. Or just call the police. Are you absolutely sure you are not in the wrong to be parking across this lay by?
The intimidation one sounds like the product of someone who's a bit deranged or it's mistaken identity. I would mention that to the police too.

SituationCritical · 28/12/2021 17:35

I'd knock round the neighbours houses and ask if they have any idea what's going on!

MegsHollyJolly · 28/12/2021 17:35

Get photos or a video of the two cars including reg plates and how close they are, get a torch to shine if its dark so the colours and details are clear. Keep the note or make a written note of the wording whilst you remember. Then call the police and log it as harassment. It has escalated already and will possibly continue to do so if further contact is attempted before the mix up is clarified.

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 28/12/2021 17:35

How very odd!

2irishmums2be · 28/12/2021 17:37

Take a photo and phone the police

CiderJolly · 28/12/2021 17:37

I’m wondering if your husband has directed some road rage at someone? Is this a possibility?

CiderJolly · 28/12/2021 17:38

Can’t see the police coming out for this how busy they are.

BewareTheRedNosedDragon · 28/12/2021 17:38

There's no threat - I would assume that my partner had been up to something, succumbed to some road rage, but mu last partner was an utter bastard so perhaps not relevant.

WonderfulYou · 28/12/2021 17:38

Then call the police and log it as harassment. It has escalated already and will possibly continue to do so if further contact is attempted before the mix up is clarified.

I agree.
It has escalated a lot quicker than what I would have thought was normal. It’s also two cars involved which could mean other people are now involved.
That means it could escalate further.

At the very least they need to know acting like a twat has consequences.

I'm still giggling at Boo to a ghost. That's my malapropism of the day! The ghost would probably be surprised that your husband stole its line.

Then again, geese are extremely fierce, so not saying Boo to one isn't nearly as meek as you'd think. I can say Boo to a number of poultry and waterfowl but I'd back off carefully from a goose.

Nailsbythesea · 28/12/2021 17:41

Take pictures and videos of all the cars -the note. If you are blocked in -phone the police and log it with the number plates -you can even do it online and attach the photos -reply to the note.

'Photos and videos of the cars blocking us in and the notes have been sent to the police and reported the crime number is .........' and please be advised that harassment, intimidation, threatening notes and blocking cars in -are really not only unnecessary but also distressing and in some cases criminal. Have you got a dash cam ?

BitterTits · 28/12/2021 17:42

Following because I want to know if the police are interested.

User12398712 · 28/12/2021 17:43

@MajorCarolDanvers

I'd seriously think of calling the police and reporting this threat.
Misread that as "reporting this thread." Grin
nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 28/12/2021 17:44

Agreed I'd either call the police or go European and bump them out of the way.

Helpstopthepain · 28/12/2021 17:44

Boo to a ghost is lovely!
Dd says ‘I can’t be asked!’ Which makes me laugh! No matter how many times I correct her!

Helpstopthepain · 28/12/2021 17:45

*she’s an adult btw, I don’t tell a child that it’s arsed not asked.

godmum56 · 28/12/2021 17:46

yes I'd go to the police about this. its got nasty quickly.

WhatisanODP · 28/12/2021 17:47

I’d probably ring 101 for advice. It sounds like your being targeted, and I’d be worried about your car getting damaged.

Do any of your neighbours know anything?

crochetmonkey74 · 28/12/2021 17:48

I live on a street where people ard horrible about parking. The fact 2 people have ganged up to block you in definitely makes me think you should call the police too
