Re note on car

This morning around 9am when I got to my car it had a soked note on the windscreen basically accusing us of intimidating someone's wife Confused

Nothing else, no idea who it is meant to be from, it's put me on edge all day even though I know I've not done anything, I barely see anyone in the street let alone speak to them!

AIBU....don't leave notes on people's cars

@Babdoc

It’s “boo to a goose”, OP, not ghost. It would actually be quite brave to say boo to a ghost!
Quite brave to say boo to a goose too, as they can be quite aggressive. misses point of thread
Mummyoflittledragon · 28/12/2021 17:50

I also think you need to report this to the police now. It is escalating and you are being harassed and targeted.

Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 28/12/2021 17:51

I'm going to give it until 8pm ish I put my address on a note on my car (pre getting locked in) to see if they appear at the door to explain what exactly the problem is, its only me and DC in at the minute so not leaving the house

Agree with those suggesting police.

It's supremely ironic that they accuse you of being intimidating then behave like this!

DotBall · 28/12/2021 17:53

My mum got blocked in once after a parking dispute got silly. The Police were great and went and knocked on the door of the twat causing hassle and told him in no uncertain terms to shift his car (he’d got his mate to block the other end) and that if he did it again he’d be on a charge. This was about 20 years ago mind.

froggybiby · 28/12/2021 17:54

I am not sure I would have put my address. Can you call the non emergency police number? Though I doubt they'd come out ...but I would be cautious about leaving my address on there, some people are clearly twisted.

babyyy1926 · 28/12/2021 17:56

I'd also contact the police, especially since it's escalated after you've put your address on the note on your car

shouldistop · 28/12/2021 17:59

Why on earth did you put your address on the note?

astorsback · 28/12/2021 18:02

What a coward he/she is.

DukkaTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 28/12/2021 18:03

I wouldn’t have put my address on the note.

WonderfulYou · 28/12/2021 18:05

Why on earth did you put your address on the note?

I assume OP wants them to realise they’ve got the wrong person.

RainbowBriteUk · 28/12/2021 18:06

@Monpetitpoisson

Boo to a ghost
Grin
WonderfulYou · 28/12/2021 18:06

OP can you see your car from your home?

I would be using my phone to video record it to see who they are and make sure they don’t damage it.

gogohm · 28/12/2021 18:06

I would ring 101, mention the note and that you need to use you car and you think they deliberately are preventing you. It's intimidation and they will take action

thefirstmrsrochester · 28/12/2021 18:09

I’d be quite unnerved at this escalation OP.

MissCruellaDeVil · 28/12/2021 18:10

I wouldn't have put your address on the note, if someone comes to the door do not answer. Phone the police now.

CovidCorvid · 28/12/2021 18:13

I’m assuming it’s someone who lives right by the lay-by who thinks it’s just for their use and are pissed off with you using it?

FairFuming · 28/12/2021 18:13

I also agree you should report it to the police thats not normal behaviour

stiltonandcrackers · 28/12/2021 18:17

Take your note off the car with your address if it's still there.

DukkaTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 28/12/2021 18:18

Is it a lay-by you’re supposed to park in?

skellingtonboot · 28/12/2021 18:18

You had a note put on your car.
This has unnerved you all day.
You don't like confrontation.
Your DH even less so.

They have now aggressively blocked you in.

But rather than call the police you have left a note with your actual address?!

So what do you plan to do when they come knocking on your door then?

Perrymenopausal · 28/12/2021 18:19

How very odd. Hope you’ve taken pictures OP

LosingTheWill2 · 28/12/2021 18:21

Have you made a note of the registration number of the cars that are blocking you in?
I think I might call 101 and give the registration numbers

RustyBear · 28/12/2021 18:33

@Babdoc

It’s “boo to a goose”, OP, not ghost. It would actually be quite brave to say boo to a ghost!
I reckon it would be braver to say boo to a goose...
ChikiTIKI · 28/12/2021 18:40

I am definitely more scared of geese than ghosts.

I would feel uneasy about this too. Wouldn't have left my address but don't know what I would have done really...
