Re note on car

This morning around 9am when I got to my car it had a soked note on the windscreen basically accusing us of intimidating someone's wife Confused

Nothing else, no idea who it is meant to be from, it's put me on edge all day even though I know I've not done anything, I barely see anyone in the street let alone speak to them!

AIBU....don't leave notes on people's cars

This is strange.
If you're absolutely sure you've done nothing and are certain your husband is being truthful then keep an eye on this and if they dont stop/move their cars by tomorrow then you can call the non emergency number as this is harassment.

Theunamedcat · 28/12/2021 17:11

Go French and move your car regardless?

OK maybe not

Atmywitsend29 · 28/12/2021 17:14

shouldistop · 28/12/2021 17:14

I'd call the police

GrannytoaUnicorn · 28/12/2021 17:14

@Whymustyoubringinthebirds You need to call the police OP

ByGolly · 28/12/2021 17:15

Go out and lean on your horn for as long as it takes
They are the cowards
You could have to see to elderly relatives or feed someonea pet, they are utter twats

Getyourjinglebellsinarow · 28/12/2021 17:16

@Whymustyoubringinthebirds

Bumpers are basically touching at both the front and back of my car, they have used 2 cars
Actually I'd call the police, this is really threatening and unnerving.
AnnaBolina · 28/12/2021 17:18

Ooh, weird. I'd phone and report it!

RandomMess · 28/12/2021 17:18

I would call the police too, it is very intimidating and threatening behaviour.

MissCruellaDeVil · 28/12/2021 17:18

We need a diagram! Do the cars who have blocked you in regularly park there?

stiltonandcrackers · 28/12/2021 17:19

@sst1234

People who put notes through letter boxes and on cars should be ignored. They are not brave enough to approach you, mostly because they know they are annoying and weird.
I agree! I had a note put on my car window accusing me of blocking their driveway even though I was a good metre away from the dipped curb! I just placed the note back on top of their recycling bin as that was pretty much all it was worth.
MissCruellaDeVil · 28/12/2021 17:20

I second blowing the horn until someone comes out to identify the cars, I have done similar when someone parked in front of my gates making me late for work!

Tornado70 · 28/12/2021 17:20

I would notify the police. There are some crazy people around.

storkstalk · 28/12/2021 17:21

I agree with PPs. Take photos showing how close, their number plates and one of the three cars all in one photo to make sure all bases covered then call the police.

IncompleteSenten · 28/12/2021 17:22

Yes, you need to call the police. Tell them about the note and that you have been purposefully blocked in.
They can find out whose cars they are and hopefully contact them and warn them off

GoneAndNameChangedAgain · 28/12/2021 17:23

I often put notes on cars that block my garden gates as it means I can’t physically leave my house and have to climb over my garden wall and through my neighbours garden to get in/out. It’s not a case of being too scared to confront anyone - I just have no bloody idea whose cars they are as the road is often used by people who work in town.

Nowayoutonlydown · 28/12/2021 17:23

Do you recognise either of the cars op?
You don't have a dashcam that records coming and goings around the car?

It's all a bit strange isn't it.

Tulipvase · 28/12/2021 17:24

I think I’d try and set their alarm off so you can try and talk to whoever it is. I presume the parking isn’t too far from any houses so I think I’d try door knocking as well.

ivykaty44 · 28/12/2021 17:25

friend of mine had a note left on their car. they left a reply on the dashboard and stated at the bottom that if further notes were left they would seek action for harassment as they had evidence & video footage.

no further notes were ever left

they hadn't got a dash cam but who's to know

DukkaTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 28/12/2021 17:26

I would take pictures.

Fiveletters · 28/12/2021 17:27

I agree with taking photos and contacting the police.

Wreath21 · 28/12/2021 17:28

Is your H at home? While I agree with PP that going to your car and sounding the horn till someone appears is a good idea, it would be better to have someone with you - if the note and the blocking are connected (rather than a tiresome coincidence ie people who are shit at parking) you might not want to do it on your own unless you are very assertive. TBH you don't sound like you are that assertive (which is not a criticism - you are upset and scared by this note which suggests you would not be up to going face to face with someone aggressive.)

DrunkenKoala · 28/12/2021 17:28

Another vote for the police - this is intimidation.

ravenmum · 28/12/2021 17:29

@Tornado70

I would notify the police. There are some crazy people around.
Me too. They are deliberately intimidating you and are clearly not very bright. Bad combination.
WonderfulYou · 28/12/2021 17:30

I've always said boo to a ghost!

I’ve always said goose but ghost makes more sense!!

I hate passive aggressive people! If they’ve got an issue with you then they need to say it to your face and then you’d at least be able to tell them they’ve got the wrong person!

Do you have Facebook?
I would take a photo of the cars and ask if any knows whose they are as they’re blocking you in.
I’d also put a note on them saying they’ve got the wrong person and you’ve logged it with the police.

Can you see the car from your house?
