For those of you who still have grandparents alive! How old are you?

Or how old were you when they passed?

I was 16 when my granparents from mom’s side died.

And somewhere in my 20’s when from dad’s side passed.
Although we weren’t in touch at all, not sure why.

I don’t know why I ask, I guess I just realised that I wasn’t around older generation much.

My last grandparent died when I was 21. Two died before I was born.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 15/12/2021 13:12

Not quite your question, but my last surviving grandparent died when I was 36.

The others sadly died when I was 11, 17, and 24

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 15/12/2021 13:13

I had a great grandmother survive until I was 8 but sadly I never met her

Dollywilde · 15/12/2021 13:14

Mine died when I was 7, 14, 15 and 19. They were all in their 70s.

DH lost his last grandparent this year at 35 - she was 92.

frankie001 · 15/12/2021 13:14

I’m 39 with a 101 year old nan!

BillywigSting · 15/12/2021 13:15

I have one grandparent left, my gm on my mother's side. She is in her 80s and I am 31.

I doubt very much she will be here another five years

StrawberrySquirrelThief · 15/12/2021 13:16

I’m 44. My remaining grandparent is 94. My other grandparents died between 11 & and 16 years ago. My great grandma died when I was 22 aged 96.

TheElusivePotato · 15/12/2021 13:16

I’m 46 and have one grandparent still alive. I was lucky enough to know my Dads parents as they were born in 1896 and 1902! They both lived into their late 90s.

alienbaby · 15/12/2021 13:16

I am 35 and have one left

aLilNonnyMouse · 15/12/2021 13:16

I'm 31 with one remaining grandparent, my mother's mother. She's 92.

All four were alive when I was born and the first one didn't die until I was 14 so I got to spend lots of time with them all. So far the deaths have been spaced out exactly every 7 years. It's been 6 years since the last one so I'm slightly paranoid and spending time with my Nan every chance I get just in case.

Thunderbolted · 15/12/2021 13:17

gogohm · 15/12/2021 13:17

Airfixkitwidow · 15/12/2021 13:18

I'm 64, my mum is 87 and my grandma is 108. All three of us still well and healthy.

Grandma has 4 great great grandchildren.

Daisy4569 · 15/12/2021 13:18

My last grandparent died when I was 33. She was 98 though so pretty old. One had died well before I was born, one in my mid twenties and one when I was 31.

Rightmess2 · 15/12/2021 13:19

I'm 45 with a 99-year-old grandmother. My grandfathers died when I was 17 and 22. My other grandmother died long before I was born.
