For those of you who still have grandparents alive! How old are you?

Or how old were you when they passed?

I was 16 when my granparents from mom’s side died.

And somewhere in my 20’s when from dad’s side passed.
Although we weren’t in touch at all, not sure why.

I don’t know why I ask, I guess I just realised that I wasn’t around older generation much.

My last grandparent died when I was 32.

DH is 49 and his lovely Nana is 99

I lost my grandparents when I was 7, 20, 25 and 34 (I'm 39 now).

My husband is 38 and while 3 of his grandparents died relatively early his Nan is a formidable woman who isn't going anywhere if she can help it! I've lost count of the number of times she's been at death's door over the 14 years that we've been together, only for her to rally and end up being absolutely fine!

One grandfather died before I was born, another when I was a young child. Grandmothers are alive and my DS, their great grandson, is 16. Four great grandparents alive when I was born, the last died when I was 19.

My Grandma is 93. She still lives on her own and was extremely independent until age 90. Since then there’s been a big decline. I’m 45.

My other grandparents died when I was in my early teens. All in their late 60’s, early 70’s.

I’m mid 30s and still have all four grandparents alive. I’m aware this is unusual.

I think I forgot to mention that I'm 52. My last surviving grandparent (maternal grandmother) died when I was 26. I think I'm from a generation for whom it was a bonus if a grandparent lived much past your own coming of age. 🤷‍♀️

My Grandads died before I was born and when I was 20, my Grandmas didn't die until I was 37 & 38 (they were 98 and 90)

I had three living grandparents when I was 40, but lost the last by 46. But my parents were young when I was born.

I'm 45 and still have my granny and granda who are 89 and 93.

I'm 38 and my last grandparent died just before Christmas, she was 105.
Some of her grandchildren are in their 50's!

I am 43, I only have my grandma on my mums side left, she is 95. My granda died two years ago at 93.

Mine died when I was -3 (59), 13 (80), 15 (77) and 27 (93)
My parents died when 4 (41) and 44 (84)

DH's grandparents died when he was 13 (75), 16 (69), 24 (80) and 30 (89)
He is 53 and both of his parents are still alive (80 and 81)

My neighbour (55) still has a grandmother in their mid nineties, she still appears to be in great health so I wouldn't be surprised if she lives another 5+ years.

I am 30, all 4 of mine are still alive!

I am 40 and my last remaining grandparent is 92.
I had a full set of grandparents until I was 12.

Plus two great Grandma's and a step great grandma were alive until I was about 10.

My dad's parents both passed away before I was 12. My mom's parents are both still alive and healthy and I'm 30 this year 😊 they are relatively young though, my mom is only 47.

I'm 49 and still.have my parents alive ,your mum would only have been 17 ?when she had you so unless they had your mum.later in life they must have been quite young grand parents?

I'm 47 my gran is 95.

My grandparents are in their very early 70's. My mom was indeed 17 when she had me. So I would assume we're in their early 40s when I was born.

Just one grandparent still alive, he is 80. My mum is 54, I am 33 and my DS will be turning 15 on Monday.

My grandmother (his wife) died in 2014, and my two grandparents on the other side died in 2019 and 2022.

One died when I was 24, had 3 until earlier this year, now just the one left, I’m early 30s.

I'm 30, and have 2 grandparents one 90 and another 87.

I'm 47 & my one remaining grandparent is 90.

I had all 4 grandparents until I was 28.

I had a great grandparent until I was 25.

There are 5 generations in my family at the moment - 90, 63, 46, 25 & 3. They all had children fairly young. This is the second time we've had 5 generations in recent years.

I had my youngest at 37, which is the age my aunt was when she became a grandmother!

I still can't wrap my head around the fact that my cousin is 10 months younger than me & I have a 10 year old daughter & she has a 3 year old granddaughter.

i am 50. Two of my grandparents (my mum’s parents) died long before I was born. My other grandma when I was 2 and my other grandad when I was about 16.

My 16 yo lost both grandads before he was born, his granny when he was 2 and his grandma (my mum) when he was 7 😢

I'm 26 and my maternal grandfather is still alive (he's 90). My maternal grandmother died last year when I was 25, my paternal grandmother when I was 11. My paternal grandfather died in his 40s, well before I was born.
