Just been kicked out of a group for objecting to being referred to as my reproductive organs

Group on Facebook. I was referred to as a “uterus owner”. I objected to this. I’m now banned from the group for being transphobic. Everyone piled on me and if I wasn’t kicked out I would have been leaving anyway. I don’t care what other people want to be called but I will not be referred to as my reproductive organs!! It’s not transphobic to want to be referred to as a woman if you were in fact born female and wish to remain a woman? surely?? Or AIBU?

YADNBU.
I wonder what they call women like myself who’ve had a hysterectomy.

Ex uterus owner maybe?

AndMatt · 30/11/2021 16:11

What on earth was the group?

TheSpottedZebra · 30/11/2021 16:12

Yes, what was the group?
And what are men called - penis owners?

WorriedMumsDontSleep · 30/11/2021 16:12

Uterus owner sounds like it's festering in a jar somewhere.
I don't think I have ever heard the words cervix, uterus or vulva said aloud outside of a medical setting, yet this language seems to being pushed from certain quarters.

It is a weird way to refer to women as a collective.

Shedmistress · 30/11/2021 16:13

How did they even know you still have your uterus?

Honestly these groups can all fuck off. Start your own groups without all this bollocks.

FuriousAndCurious · 30/11/2021 16:16

I'm in one on FB which is mainly US poster's and the stuff that they post on there is honestly so laughable. You daren't say ANYTHING for fear of offending someone about something. Even the most basic thing like saying the sky is blue could cause them to debate with each other about how offensive it is to colour blind people to acknowledge colours or something like that. It's actually quite scary and worrying.

I'm in another about a similar subject which is UK poster's and it doesn't seem to be as bad.

But no, YANBU.

Chocolatewheatos · 30/11/2021 16:16

What Group was it?!

Gerlais · 30/11/2021 16:18

An iron deficiency group!

I’m so shocked that women are literally being silenced like this. I knew things were getting bad (the trans body builder saga) etc but I never realised it was that bad that you will literally be hounded for wanting to be referred to as a woman. It’s bloody ridiculous, I’m fuming!

I would have put forward the hysterectomy argument had they not kicked me out as soon as I objected to the terminology

OP posts:
Gerlais · 30/11/2021 16:19

Even more fuming that I can’t see what they’re all saying about me now!

OP posts:
thenewduchessofhastings · 30/11/2021 16:20

And if you'd had a hysterectomy you might have found that extremely offensive.

My 16 year old Gay DD who's very "woke" even says that's absolutely batshit and the group members are being degrading toward you.

EmpressCixi · 30/11/2021 16:20

“Uterus owner” is simply misogynist code for “cunt” in my opinion. It’s sexism cloaked in polite words, but no less offensive in their intent.

Borderterrierpuppy · 30/11/2021 16:23

I had to back away from a midwifery thread today because people were accepting birthing people instead of women, I feel your pain.

RaisedByPangolins · 30/11/2021 16:24

Get yourself over the feminism threads and to see even more of this batshittery on a daily basis. The world has gone nuts. Oh sorry shouldn’t say that as it’s probably offensive to people with nut allergies.

FuriousAndCurious · 30/11/2021 16:25

I don't get the logic of arguing that we need to call people this because it upsets them to be called male/female but as an actual woman if you are offended or upset at being called uterus owner or something equally ridiculous, you should shut up about it or you'll be labelled phobic.

These woke individuals dont care about people's feelings or opinions, or they'd take on board ours as well!

Oh yes, I was told it’s normal now to refer to people as “birth givers” and “chest feeders” and if I can’t cope with that I should remain silent!! Wtf!!

I don’t normally get so annoyed by things on stupid Facebook but this has put me in a right mood!

RaisedByPangolins · 30/11/2021 16:26

It’s horrific the way women have been silenced and shut down for saying even the most basic biological facts - I really want this all to blow up in the most spectacular way, but I imagine it will be more of a damp fizzle where these people all quietly delete their loony comments and pretend like it never happened, which is what seems to be happening on a smaller scale with some of the back-pedalling.

FuriousAndCurious · 30/11/2021 16:29

The problem is things like Facebook where you aren't anonymous like on MN for example, become an echo chamber of people just agreeing with what they think the in thing is to agree with. People who disagree, although I actually believe they are in much higher numbers, feel unable to say anything because they get labelled phobic this or that. And these loons can genuinely be vicious enough to go after people who disagree, tarnishing them. People end up too afraid to say anything and they mistake it for people agreeing with them.

It's ludicrous.

I don’t know if I could handle it, I’d end up in a permanent rage! Can’t believe how angry I am 😂 must be those non gender specific hormones eh!

What's was woman without a uterus called in the group?

What were men called?

What were transmen and women called?

ButtonSister · 30/11/2021 16:31

I really don't get the logic of chest feeder - to feed a human infant you need to produce milk from the mammary glands which are housed in female breasts. If you don't have breasts you can't do that, however much you wish to identify as someone without breasts.

AdmiralCain · 30/11/2021 16:32

Birthing People, People that breast feed, Trans sanitary towels fml...
trans women going to rape and incest survivors meetings where the survivors are terrified of men.
Nero truly is playing his fiddle as Rome burns

BeaMends · 30/11/2021 16:32

You're well out of a group that spouts wankery like that.

JauntyJinty · 30/11/2021 16:32

Genuine question - how do the refer to female to male transexuals? Surely they would be Uterus owners too (at least in the majority of cases)

Gerlais · 30/11/2021 16:32

@cabingirl

Women without a uterus were not discussed, wish I’d had time to bring it up before they kicked me!

Men are apparently called penis owners (I did ask this!)

No idea what trans folk are called, didn’t get chance to ask

OP posts:
Collaborate · 30/11/2021 16:34

I am someone who supports trans rights and I think some of the threads on this site are appallingly transphobic.

However this is definitely one of those in which people who call themselves trans supporters are making fools of themselves. If they insist on calling a woman a uterus owner then presumably a pre-op trans woman is a penis owner?
