To think you can't drop dog shit in other people's bins?

My dh thinks that if a house wheelie bin is on the pavement it's fair play to dropped bagged dog shit into it.
I on the other hand think this is socially unacceptable, so I thought I'd ask MN.

Iabu, of course, a bin is a bin, perfectly reasonable to drop shit in it.

I'd rather it was in my bin than on the pavement tbh. Their own bin would be preferable of course but it makes no difference to me.

I wouldn’t do it because a lot of people would be horrified but I honestly wouldn’t care if anyone put dog poo in our bin.

It would irrationally annoy me if it was my bin. (Irrationally because it's a bin and it stays outside, but still... 💩)

It's a no from me, if I saw someone dropping dog poo into my bin (even properly bagged) I wouldn't think it was cool

I have a dog and would never do this.

If they are out to be emptied then fine.
If they are already emptied then no, something dropped on top could split the dog poo bag and made it smear all over the inside of the bin.

Having said that I wouldn't put it in someone else's bin, just I wouldn't mind if they did the above.
But then we don't have wheelie bins for general rubbish, just black plastic sacks.

Don't mind if people put it in my bin but for fucks sake put it in the general bin not the bloody paper on, bastards.

I wouldn’t use some else’s bin for any kind of rubbish, nevermind poop. I use a public bin or take my rubbish home with me.

Nope I'd hate this. Carry it and put it in a proper dog bin or take it home.

I wouldn't do it. But I wouldn't mind if the person leaving their dog shit all over the bits of grass at the side of the house would pick it up and use mine!

I do use my mum's if it's out and I'm walking past.

If the bin lorry is following you down the street, emptying the bins, then fair enough I think. If the bin is empty then no way. I don't put my own dog's bagged poo in the bottom of my bin as something heavy dropping on it could split the bag and leave the bin covered in poo!

If its out for collection then fine. If not not fine. Especially if its just been emptied as it might just get smashed.

Irrationally, it seems wrong - but rationally it really isn't. It feels like an intrusion but when you analyse it the bin isn't even 'yours', it belongs to the council who are using it to provide you with a service.

Absolutely disgusting. Someone did it once and put it in my recycling bin. So grim, especially in hot weather when the hun doesn’t get emptied for another two weeks.

Someone put a dog shit bag in my empty cardboard bin before I could bring it in. Postie knowing it was empty put parcel in it. Result smashed dog shit in my bin and on parcel

Nope, horrid and nasty and I'm a dog owner; it annoys the crap out of me. We used to have people do this constantly when living next to a dog walk and in the end we moved our bins (which was a complete PITA)

Its gross. If its alrwady been collected it will sit in tbe bin for 2 weeks and stink.
