To think you can't drop dog shit in other people's bins?

My dh thinks that if a house wheelie bin is on the pavement it's fair play to dropped bagged dog shit into it.
I on the other hand think this is socially unacceptable, so I thought I'd ask MN.

Iabu, of course, a bin is a bin, perfectly reasonable to drop shit in it.

Yanbu LTB filthy fucker

I don't think think it's OK unless it has the "dog poo bin" sticker in it.

kowari · 18/11/2021 20:30

Those saying a rubbish bin is for rubbish, dog shit is not comparable to any other rubbish I create. My kitchen bin can be left for a week or two without any smells when the bin is closed. Separate food waste is all plants or egg shells. I don't have anything remotely comparable to shit in any of my bins.
@JunoMcDuff I put it in a public bin.
How fucking hypocritical!!
**@Lockheart* @Nomoreusernames1244*

I’m not Hyacinth Bucket or anything. We have huge overhanging trees and hedges and the bins get covered in this green/black mildew stuff, so they get jet washed every few months and I do the insides as well because it reeks of shit.

I want to not get grimy hands and a cloud of other people’s dog shit smell in my face when I put my own bins out. I don’t think that’s weird.

And you’d be surprised at how pungent the shit smell is - our bins only get collected once a fortnight and there are several regular walkers putting their shit in my bin twice a day. You can smell it as you walk up my driveway to my house!
I don’t give a damn what some random
thinks about me or my bin. I wash it every two weeks and leave hinching zoflora in it because I don’t want a rancid smell by my house.
I love dogs, got my own. Take the dog shit home you lazy bastards.

@newnameagain99

Op I remember starting a post on this subject years ago and it turned out I was unreasonable for being irritated at people putting bagged dog poo in my bin. I've also had a car stop and someone get out of their car and put a carrier bag of rubbish in my bin... that was ok with everyone else too! I think it's bloody cheeky
I can beat that. A women knocked on my door and asked me to make up her baby formula, which I did. She thanked me by leaving a soiled, poo laden nappy in my parking space.
Frankola · 18/11/2021 21:56

Well I'd rather it go in a bin than the street

@Nomoreusernames1244

I’m the one who has to clean out the bins that smell of dog shit when we have no dog

Genuine question, why do you clean out wheelie bins?

They’re outside, they are emptied mechanically, you only ever have to touch the lid- why on earth would you bother cleaning it?

I have enough to do any a clean outdoor bin wouldn’t make my to do list ever. Never cleaned one yet…

I had to clean out my paper bin when someone put a bag full of dog shit in it and a delivery driver put a parcel in it squashing and splattering the dog shit all over my bin and parcel

I had an arrangement with delivery man re parcels. I didn’t with the entitled person who walked down my drive and put the shit in my bin on private property

OnTheBoardwalk · 18/11/2021 23:14

@Nomoreusernames1244 I do admit I’m precious about my bins.

I don’t wash them myself but pay someone £2 each to wash my general waste and food wheelie bins every 3 weeks 😀

worriedatthemoment · 19/11/2021 00:16

No its not ok to put in someone elses bin, use a public bin or dog pooh one
Our bins are collected every 3 weeks around here so bins are full and certainly don't want someone elses rubbish or dog pooh in my bin for 3 weeks
I have a dog and would never use someone elses bin
We double bag in ours and also make sure not on the bottom so can't split open
Its not actually ok to put any rubbish in someone elses bin

Smokeahontas · 19/11/2021 00:17

As long as it’s bagged and goes in the right bin, no. Better there than caked on a shoe.

Smokeahontas · 19/11/2021 00:18

As in, I wouldn’t mind if someone put bagged shite in my bin as long as it’s the right one

PickAChew · 19/11/2021 00:19

If mine is out, I'd rather passers by dropped bag shit into it than left it for me to pick up.
