To ask why we aren’t talking about the fuel anymore?

We still have all our petrol stations empty, there has been the odd delivery but all the pumps have empty signs very quickly.

It doesn’t seem to be on the news anymore, are we just accepting that this is how we now live?

Loads of petrol up north. No queues, nothing running dry.
Think the issue still remains in the SE though.
Old news now.

APurpleSquirrel · 03/10/2021 18:32

Things seem to have returned to normal here (SW) - stations open, most or all pumps open & no queues.

Evenstar · 03/10/2021 18:32

None here SE, DH tried to get me some this afternoon and I tried in the week, nothing. I am sick of it, but because other areas have it we don’t seem to matter.

checkedcloth · 03/10/2021 18:32

Well it may be old news but it’s having a significant impact on our lives!

I’m in Scotland and it’s basically resolved here. I think it’s only still an issue in certain pockets of the country.

Not saying that’s ok, but explains why it has dropped off the national news.

checkedcloth · 03/10/2021 18:33

@Evenstar we are SE too. I have one more round trip to work left in my car. No idea what I am going to do after tomorrow.

littleblackno · 03/10/2021 18:34

Im in devon and things seem to be relatively back to normal here. I think the SE is a bigger probability and will take longer to get back to normal levels.
I really dont think this is how we live now, i just think its only a problem in small parts of the country so its not being reported on nationally now.

Parky04 · 03/10/2021 18:34

I filled up pretty easily today. Live in Berkshire.

Noogar · 03/10/2021 18:34

Because they realised they were just stoking the panic?

PippaOwl · 03/10/2021 18:34

I'm in the south east and absolutely no issues at all with fuel where I am

Jaxhog · 03/10/2021 18:34

Still no fuel in SE, near us.

GiovanniBitMe · 03/10/2021 18:34

I'm glad it's not in the news. The more they talk about it (especially in over-dramatic ways) the more the problem was perpetuated.

checkedcloth · 03/10/2021 18:35

@Noogar if that was the case then why can’t we get any now?

OP posts:
Macncheeseballs · 03/10/2021 18:35

Its having very little/no impact on my life, so far, but it may

Confiscatedpopit · 03/10/2021 18:35

SE… too much money (for some) and too little worries. More likely to panic buy.

Northerners- not enough £ to stock up and more likely to worry about actual problems.

Horrific generalisation but surely a grain of truth there…

BelleOfTheProvince · 03/10/2021 18:36

@PippaOwl

A list of garages would be useful.
checkedcloth · 03/10/2021 18:36

I’m not panic buying, I genuinely cannot get to work after tomorrow.

mysterybag · 03/10/2021 18:36

Just filled up in London - massive queue but moving quickly and no restrictions

InTheNightWeWillWish · 03/10/2021 18:36

We don’t have fuel round here but talking about it is what actually started the panic buying. Allowing people to forget about it, will likely get things back to normal a lot quicker.

Dreamstate · 03/10/2021 18:37

Cos the media done there panic buy storied and loced on and the only area affected most is the south east at the moment.

Fuel stories now aren't going to generate clicks or whatever they beed to generate income they been there and done that onto the next ...

MintJulia · 03/10/2021 18:37

I filled up this morning in north Hampshire. There was a queue of 3 cars. It seems to be easing.

Evenstar · 03/10/2021 18:37

I think there are just more cars and people in SE

WayneBruce · 03/10/2021 18:37

The media are having a rest before they launch their next panic buyng episode.

It's pigs in blankets and Turkey's next don't ya know.

Theunamedcat · 03/10/2021 18:37

The issue seemed to resolve itself but its still breaking news on the BBC earlier

AngeloMysterioso · 03/10/2021 18:38

What else is there to say really?
