To have asked DH to buy my youknows?

Is it unreasonable able to ask a man to buy youknows when they are going out to the shop anyway? It’s not an extra trip, to buy whilst already there?

“Youknows”???

dementedpixie · 02/10/2021 08:43

Tampons/sanitary towels?
It's not hard to say the actual words
Yes my dh would buy them for me as long as I specified exactly which ones I wanted I.e. not scented

Mybalconyiscracking · 02/10/2021 08:43

Oh go back to bed ffs!

HummingBeeBox · 02/10/2021 08:43

Youknows?

Blendabrethin · 02/10/2021 08:43

What on earth are you knows? Do you mean Uno?

Nayday · 02/10/2021 08:44

Do you mean tampons or pads etc for your period? No YANBU.

EllieSattler · 02/10/2021 08:44

We can say tampons/sanitary towels on MN, I presume that's what you mean?

If you mean dildos I can see why that might be awkward for him.

Offmyfence · 02/10/2021 08:44

If you can't even use the right words, then YADBU!

MysweetAudrina · 02/10/2021 08:44

Well if you are too embarrassed to type the word, you can't really complain about him being too embarrassed to buy them for you.

namechange202086 · 02/10/2021 08:44

Confusedyouknows

What on earth?

PrivateHall · 02/10/2021 08:45

If you cannot even bring yourself to say the correct words online then you cannot really expect DH to buy them can you Confused

wineandcheeseplease · 02/10/2021 08:46

What the hell is a youknow

Squirrelblanket · 02/10/2021 08:46

Wow, two threads about tampons on the first page. 🙄

marplemead · 02/10/2021 08:46

Do you mean sanitary towels/tampons? My DH would make a special trip to get them if I asked him.

Herja · 02/10/2021 08:46

I would have no respect for a man who couldn't buy me sanitary protection. It's pathetic. It is a perfectly normal, reasonable thing to buy, no different to buying soap or tissues.

stormyteacupss · 02/10/2021 08:47

Are you sure you're old enough to need them if you're calling sanitary products 'you knows?'

WaltzingBetty · 02/10/2021 08:47

What on Earth are you talking about?
If it's sanitary protection then why not just say that?
So weird

Sprostongreen21 · 02/10/2021 08:47

You are very unreasonable to ask him when you can’t bloody say it??

My dad had 3 daughters so wasn’t phased and bought ours if shopping and my partner has bought mine. Periods and sanitary wear aren’t taboo. Ffs.

This! If I needed tampons I’d ask my partner to pick up tampons - green/super non compact ones and probably send him a photo to make sure they were right.

If you’ve asked you partner in a coy way to get something you’re embarrassed about, rather than in a matter of fact way like you’d ask him to pick up milk, it’s no wonder he thinks it’s a bit weird.

If “youknows” are actually condoms then you are still being unreasonable but he is also being unreasonable if he’s not buying them.

MadeOfStarStuff · 02/10/2021 08:48

YABVU for referring to “you knows”

Grow the fuck up

SylvanianFrenemies · 02/10/2021 08:48

DH will buy my whatjamicallims, whatsits and thingmybobs, but he draws the line at youknows.

RickJames · 02/10/2021 08:48

Have I gone back in time??

RaisedByPangolins · 02/10/2021 08:48

My dad made me cry as a teen by buying me tampons when my mum was in hospital without me even having to ask him. Legend.
Shoxfordian · 02/10/2021 08:49

If you’re not old enough to type tampon then are you sure you need any?

SquareWindow · 02/10/2021 08:49

Youknows? WTAF we’re grown ups who can say tampons if that’s what it is.
My DH has been into a shop just to buy them and nothing else. Why make it a thing?
