The one I dislike most is 'and just like that'

'And just like that I have a (2, 12, 18 insert number) year old'

'And just like that she's off to university'

Am I alone in finding this exceedingly annoying?

It's not the only one.

'This dress is everything'
'This cake is everything'

Why do people copy these irritating trends? It's not young people either!

'Making memories' makes me cringe.

Annoyedanddissapointed · 07/09/2021 08:38

Delighted.

Fucking delighted.
Linkedin mainly, saw it now on others

WomanStanleyWoman · 07/09/2021 08:40

Yep, ‘just like that’ is hideous.

‘All the feels’ is another one that makes me stabby.

CapitanSandy · 07/09/2021 08:40

“So I did a thing” gives me irrational rage

lockdownmadnessdotcom · 07/09/2021 08:40

@FairyWings4

'Making memories' makes me cringe.
Me too. You either remember something when you are older, or you don't.
Thehop · 07/09/2021 08:41

“Famalam”
“My world”
“Making memories”

Vomit

I feel bad for the “making memories” people, they don’t realise their tiny kids will forget the picturesque boat trip/lovingly created picnic/wild camping and just remember the bit where they threw up on mummy’s shoes after too many marshmallows.

CruCru · 07/09/2021 08:46

I can't stand it when people put up photos and write "This one tho". This one what?

Mybestgirl · 07/09/2021 08:47

I hate ‘my kids are my world!’

raffle · 07/09/2021 08:47

Get to spend the day with This One (under pic of themselves and friend/partner/family)

raffle · 07/09/2021 08:48

Also, ‘I love this for you’ regarding just about anything, new dress/picture of a salad/new relationship.

icelollycraving · 07/09/2021 08:50

These phrases don’t bother me. I personally can’t stand holibobs or familam. I’m not a fan of live, laugh, love. A have a friend who puts this on every single post and has done for years. Weirdly I admire her tenacious hold onto a phrase that sets most people’s teeth on edge. She’s a lovely person though so I just smile.
Most people on mn seem to dislike most of their ‘friends’ on Facebook.

JazzerMcCreary · 07/09/2021 08:50

‘Ohana’ Fuck me, we get it, you saw Lilo and Stitch.

Whattheflecker · 07/09/2021 08:51

@WomanStanleyWoman

Yes!

'All the' anything.

All the fun
All the drinks
All the feels

Makes me cringe - I don't know why!

ConfusedDotty · 07/09/2021 08:52

Everyone seems to have been on some sort of 'journey '

I hate it, fooking journey??? Nah, it's just life mate.

WaltzForDebbie · 07/09/2021 08:54

"feeling grateful" (followed by obvious boast!)

Duckypoohs · 07/09/2021 08:56

Anyone who calls someone "sweet summer child" should be bludgeoned immediately.

The one on here "are you on glue" is it supposed to be funny, or cutiing in some way Hmm

Anon778833 · 07/09/2021 08:59

@weesleekitcowrantimrousbeastie

"keep being you"

As opposed to who?

🤣🤣🤣

BrisbaneandGone · 07/09/2021 09:02

"PM me hun" after a post saying how fed up she is yet failing to say why...it's ALWAYS the same person. If she doesn't want to say why then stop the attention seeking posts on FB!

WheelieBinPrincess · 07/09/2021 09:03

Does anyone else have someone who does the ‘when’ thing?

‘When hubby sends you flowers on your anniversary’

‘When you go out for pizza on a Friday night’

Accompanied by the pic. I can’t bear it. WHEN.

DobieGrayshark · 07/09/2021 09:03

Yes I hate “just like that”. Also “this one”. Often seen together in “just like that this one is off to secondary school”.

PricklesTheHedgehog · 07/09/2021 09:05

Anyone who is 'super excited' to do whatever they're doing.

It often involves trying to sell you something...

cushioncovers · 07/09/2021 09:06

' You do you hun' or 'You do you Boo'.

Contactlesslenses · 07/09/2021 09:07

‘It’s all getting very real now’ when a kid goes to university
‘He/She smashed it’ for exam results

Plus all the various versions of ‘giving them wings so they can fly’ - again, mostly for kids going to university
