The one I dislike most is 'and just like that'

'And just like that I have a (2, 12, 18 insert number) year old'

'And just like that she's off to university'

Am I alone in finding this exceedingly annoying?

It's not the only one.

'This dress is everything'
'This cake is everything'

Why do people copy these irritating trends? It's not young people either!

"My world" is horrible.

Housewife2010 · 07/09/2021 12:40

"...And breathe"

DoylyCarte · 07/09/2021 12:41

“Because reasons.” Is just toe-curlingly awful.

As is ending sentences with “no?” Comes across awfully patronising/pretentious and/or twee depending on context (unless one is actually french)

MrsWhites · 07/09/2021 12:41

‘Today years old’ - as in ‘I was today years old when I found out....’. It actually gives me the rage!

I also hate making memories - thing is, they are seeing these memories through a phone screen....go and actually live and enjoy the moment instead.

‘Turns’ - as in ‘this one turns 8 today’. I keep seeing this on balloons in particular.

Housewife2010 · 07/09/2021 12:47

I agree with all the examples on this thread! Sometimes I say things like "hashtag making memories" to my son as a piss take!

dannydyerismydad · 07/09/2021 12:50

I can deal with the cutesy phrases, and may be guilty of using some of them in the past.

But the Bossbabes living their best lives can fuck right off.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 07/09/2021 12:50

You got this

Just
Fuck
Off

dannydyerismydad · 07/09/2021 12:59

Bekind can piss off though.

It's always the ones with a bekind filter on their profile picture who are ripping into some unsuspecting soul asking a simple question.

lap90 · 07/09/2021 13:02

So it's not just me... lol.

I recall a tweet poking fun at the 'I married my best friend' line.

It read: "I married my best friend" - well congratulations to you from us who will be marrying our mortal enemies.

Kerzehmet · 07/09/2021 13:03

That is all.
Rant over.

LBirch02 · 07/09/2021 13:03

On a positive note I absolutely love hearing about everyone’s ‘holibobs’ Grin

Laney39 · 07/09/2021 13:08

Out for a cheeky nandos with this one🤢

Anon778833 · 07/09/2021 13:09

Sweet summer child? What does that mean??

Oh another one;

'Obsessed'

Obsessed with this [thing that you just like] 🙄

Strokethefurrywall · 07/09/2021 13:12

“About last night…” - you’re not Carrie Bradshaw FFS. If you see lots of folk spouting that bollocks, it’s time to retire the phrase.

Ghostsintheshelf · 07/09/2021 13:12

@Itsnotover

Sweet summer child? What does that mean??
It's a Game of Thrones quote. Used to imply that someone is being very naive.
cleosol · 07/09/2021 13:13

@Itsnotover

Sweet summer child? What does that mean??
It's from game of thrones. I didn't mind it until they ruined the show 😂

It's basically saying someone in naive.

cleosol · 07/09/2021 13:13

*is

Laney39 · 07/09/2021 13:13

I'm "obsessed" with this song/jumper/lipstick

No, you just like it, you don't actually have an obsession with it!

ohohovex · 07/09/2021 13:13

If you know, you know

Bloodypunkrockers · 07/09/2021 13:15

Am I the only one who........

Anon778833 · 07/09/2021 13:21

I am clearly a SSC. I assumed it meant a child born in August!!!

Anon778833 · 07/09/2021 13:23

@cleosol

Ah I can't complain about something that comes from GOT 😉

I thought of another one...

Show me (something usually boring) without telling me. Today’s example was ‘show me your kid is starting senior school without telling me’ - accompanied by a photograph of a load of uniform packaging!

Oh and ‘I’m not crying you are’ 🤬
