To ask how many pairs of shoes you own

So I'm just curious. I have 17 pairs which I think is a fairly standard amount as it includes trainers, sandles, boots, high heels etc. I have a friend who has over 50 pairs and then my partner for example only has around 8 give or take a pair or two.

Pointless thread really but I'm curious

Are we including boots? If so I am well over 50 pairs, but actual shoes somewhere in the 40s.
But I am late 50s and ha e accumulated a few in my time 😄

airforsharon · 04/08/2021 11:46

2 pairs Doc Martens
I pair 'smart' black boots
3 pairs converse
I pair Birkenstock sandals
I pair black shoes that only get dusted off for funerals
I pair walking boots

I'm quite a 'manly' dresser - jeans, shirts, boots - and have always prefered boots to shoes

BabyDereksToes · 04/08/2021 11:48

About 15-20 I think. About 5 pairs of summer sandals, flip flops etc. 2 pairs of winter boots, loads of trainers, work shoes and a couple of pairs of heels which never get worn!

NotWanting · 04/08/2021 11:48

3 pairs that I wear often.

Out 30 pairs of going out shoes that I no longer wear and haven't done in years.

lanbro · 04/08/2021 11:50

Easily 50 plus, numerous trainers, loads of boots, many sandals and flip flops...

Puffalicious · 04/08/2021 11:51

About 50, but I had a huge cull last year and charity shopped about 25 pairs. I like shoes. I could buy a new pair every week easily if I had the money! My mam was the same, as are my sisters! Shoes will always be your friend no matter your size!

In saying that, this summer I have lived in my Birkies!

PortMerrionCentre · 04/08/2021 11:52

Less than 10, including wellingtons & walking boots. 1 pair of winter shoes, 1 pair of sandals, 1 flip flops for holidays. Converse. DM boots.

ConstanceGracy · 04/08/2021 11:55

About 20-25 I reckon. Maybe more.
Dh has about 9/10

CazM2012 · 04/08/2021 11:57

2 pairs trainers, 1 pair sandals, 1 pair flip flops, 1 pair boots, 1 pair wellies, 1 pair heels. They get replaced as they wear, not a big shoe fan and only 1 pair of feet to wear them Grin

Bbq1 · 04/08/2021 11:58

40-50 pairs of shoes and boots for a variety of occasions

LittleRed53 · 04/08/2021 12:00

Own? Eh, around 15 I think.

Wear? 1. Pre-covid it was 3, but these days I never need anything other than my trainers.

I struggle to find shoes that actually fit and are comfortable though, so that's a big part of it. I love beautiful shoes as a thing, though.

Corcra · 04/08/2021 12:03

I’d love to see how ye store them.
I’ve about 30 pairs. I got rid of about 20 pairs in the last clear out.

chatw0o0 · 04/08/2021 12:05

I've got 17 pairs - not all in use at the same time though! And a few pairs are back-ups for existing pairs, when they wear out.

Sewaccidentprone · 04/08/2021 12:07

Conservative estimate without checking is approx 40.

I have stupidly narrow feet, also wear orthotics, so if I find something which fits well and tend to buy a couple of pairs (or so) in different colors.

AuntieMarys · 04/08/2021 12:07

About 50 pairs.

traintraveller · 04/08/2021 12:07

I have around 100

sammylady37 · 04/08/2021 12:11

50-60 I’d say

DeepDown12 · 04/08/2021 12:11

60+ including boots, sandals, sneakers...

FenceSplinters · 04/08/2021 12:12

Four.

sqirrelfriends · 04/08/2021 12:14

About 60-70.

Too many really and mostly unworn in the last year. Loads of those are heels which I no longer wear due to discomfort and also being hugely unfashionable.

I regularly wear the same 2 pairs of sandals, 2 pairs of trainers and some slip-ons.

TrickorTreacle · 04/08/2021 12:17

Work shoes, going out shoes x 2, a good pair of trainers, every day trainers, pair of sandals, pair of slippers, pair of wellingtons. So I make that 8 pairs.

Anything that is over 10 pairs is nuts. Where the hell do you store them all? Especially those who are saying 25-50+?!

Nanasueathome · 04/08/2021 12:19

I really don’t know
But it’s a lot

BarbaraofSeville · 04/08/2021 12:21

@Corcra

I’d love to see how ye store them. I’ve about 30 pairs. I got rid of about 20 pairs in the last clear out.
Ours are on an old Ikea Billy bookcase in the utility/boot room.

We both have two many and a clear out is well overdue as aforementioned bookcase is overflowing.

I have 25-30 pairs, including at least 5 pairs of walking boots for all occasions from lightweight for hot and dry summers to heavy waterproofs for muddy winters. Plus trainers, trail running shoes, flip flops, walking sandals and leather ankle and calf boots, which are my go to day time and casual evening normal footwear.

I only have about 2-3 pairs of 'nice' shoes and they get worn about once a year if that.

nokidshere · 04/08/2021 12:21

5

Two pairs of flats, one pair of heels (can't wear now), one pair of sandals and a pair of boots.

eightyfourandahalf · 04/08/2021 12:22

Who has time to actually count!

"too many" according to DH who has to put up storage for them.
