To ask how many pairs of shoes you own

NoProblama · 04/08/2021 11:40

So I'm just curious. I have 17 pairs which I think is a fairly standard amount as it includes trainers, sandles, boots, high heels etc. I have a friend who has over 50 pairs and then my partner for example only has around 8 give or take a pair or two.

Pointless thread really but I'm curious

Six. That includes three pairs I never wear and haven't got around to giving away, plus one pair which are literally falling apart but I will keep wearing them through the muddy garden until they do collapse.

MintyCedric · 07/08/2021 00:59

Recently had a turn out and relocated my shoe rack...there's a couple of pairs missing in this pick, but all told about 18-20 pairs.

ShitPoetryClub · 07/08/2021 01:03

About 20.

noblegreenk · 07/08/2021 01:09

About 15-20 pairs including 4 pairs of trainers, 4 pairs of heeled work shoes, flat work loafers, wellies, 3 pairs of flip flops, ankle boots plus other various going out shoes.

vodkaredbullgirl · 07/08/2021 01:12

I've not got enough by the looks of it lol

SecretKeeper1 · 07/08/2021 01:16

Around 40-50. Too many! Roughly 10 pairs each of: boots, flip flops, trainers, heels, plus a few others like sandals, ballet pumps etc. You’ve spurred me on to get rid of a fair few as I probably only wear a dozen of them.

MargaretThursday · 07/08/2021 01:23

1 running shoes
1 tennis shoes
1 plimsoles
1 sandals
I think at the back of my wardrobe I have some smartish shoes, but I may have given them to charity as I don't wear them.

NotThatSocial · 07/08/2021 01:29

I just had a mental count and I think I've got 22

elliejjtiny · 07/08/2021 01:30

2, I'm not really into shoes.

elliejjtiny · 07/08/2021 01:31

Love handbags though, got quite a few of them.

PomBearWithoutHerOFRS · 07/08/2021 03:56
  1. Flip flops, canvas slip ons (with a hole in) and those fur lined imitation ugg boots.
DuchessOfDisaster · 07/08/2021 03:59

@TrickorTreacle

Work shoes, going out shoes x 2, a good pair of trainers, every day trainers, pair of sandals, pair of slippers, pair of wellingtons. So I make that 8 pairs.

Anything that is over 10 pairs is nuts. Where the hell do you store them all? Especially those who are saying 25-50+?!

I have over 200 ......... clearly I am totally nuts!
VenusSap · 07/08/2021 04:03

Think I last counted 64 but I don’t keep count and I bought some new Sandals this year and trainers.

Different colours. Different styles.

lokomojo · 07/08/2021 04:05

2 pairs. It's only because I can never find any that fit. I find them uncomfortable.

MrsMonkeyBear · 07/08/2021 04:19

I think around 10 pairs.

I mainly wear DC skate shoes as I know a size 5.5 from them fits perfectly, so I own 4 pairs of these.

I also have 1 pair of safety trainers at work

PersonaNonGarter · 07/08/2021 04:44

1x wellies
1x walking boots
1x nice flat boots
1x black heavy boots
3x heels
1 x quirky mid heel
3 x flats
4x sandals and espadrilles
1x trainers

16 or so. Feel like I’ve forgotten a couple of pairs but it’s definitely >20. And I really like shoes, weirdly. I shop very slowly though.

Clancey · 07/08/2021 04:57

11, mainly boots. I go from boots to flip flops & am still looking for comfy shoes.

It makes me laugh when I hear people talking about Vans & Converse, the canvas Vans were what old people used to wear years ago. Converse we called pumps or baseball boots. Now they’re expensive for what they are the height of fashion 🤭

Longdistance · 07/08/2021 05:08

I actually don’t know how many shoes I have Blush it’s that many. They are in various locations around the house. I also have some in my car,
I have a drawer under our bed, three shelves in our wardrobe, loads in the hallway, garage, loft and of course my car.
Some shoes are different colours as they’re comfortable so I buy others in a different colour.

Eileen101 · 07/08/2021 05:13

About 11 I think, could do with a clear out, I'm not really a shoes fan and tend to live in my walking trainers.
Walking trainers, a cheapy pair of trainers, converse, walking sandals, dressier sandals, black heels, nude heels, pink flats, fake uggs, tap shoes, ballet shoes.
Would usually have a pair of black flats for work, but threw them out as they were full of holes and pretty worn through. I've been on mat leave and now WFH so rarely wear any but trainers. Heels come out for occasional work things and go in my bag until absolutely necessary...

Lovinghannah · 07/08/2021 06:42

Two pairs walking boots and two pairs trainers
(And an old pair of boots with holes in for gardening

FangsForTheMemory · 07/08/2021 06:50
  1. Of these I wear two pairs of trainers a lot.
MsSquiz · 07/08/2021 07:01

Definitely over 50, if we're including trainers, flip flops & boots.

Regularly wear - 6/7
Vejas - dressy trainers
Vans - scruffy, general trainers
Nike airs - exercise trainers
Tan ankle boots - day to day boots
Louboutin shoe boots - dressy boots
Nude sandals - dressy sandals
Havaianas

MsSquiz · 07/08/2021 07:03

Oh, and storage.
An extendable shoe rack in my walk on wardrobe - rarely worn
An extendable shoe rack in the coat cupboard - most often worn
An old bookshelf in the garage - flips flops and anything muddy/dirty
Drawer under the spare bed - Designer shoes & boots in their dust bags

workwoes123 · 07/08/2021 07:11

Not very many.

1 pair walking trainers
1 pair thongs
1 pair leather boots
1 pair moccasins
1 pair old crocs
1 pair wellies
1 pair general purpose exercising trainers.

I think that’s it? I don’t hang onto old stuff, replace things when they wear out. I don’t shop for fun 🙄 and haven’t worn heels for decades.

Onlinedilema · 07/08/2021 07:14

Thanks for this thread. I have lots of shoes, I don't even know how many pairs. So glad it's not just me. I 'd say around 50 pairs but it could be more.
