How many duvet covers do you own?

CorrieALanus · 27/07/2021 16:15

Not a TAAT but obliquely inspired.

I own 3 but only use 2. None are themed in any way, quite plain.

So you have themes? Seasonal duvet covers? Where do you store them, how often do you change/rotate them and when do you get rid?

Sorry I meant to put this in chat

2 sets for each bed.. nothing seasonal

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 27/07/2021 16:18

We need two for our bed (duvet each). Have two covers, one still OK one rather threadbare. Trying to find a matching pair i like.

Children... 6 hundred million each. I'm sure they breed.

onemouseplace · 27/07/2021 16:19

I only glanced at that thread, but thought the same.

We have 3 sets - all white. I've actually ordered a new set in the sale last night as DH's stubble has finally destroyed the pillowcases of one set - which I will be ditching.

Needaholiday101 · 27/07/2021 16:21

2 sets per bed. Store in the airing cupboard.

Sapnupuas · 27/07/2021 16:21

Two Christmas duvet covers

Three or four other covers.

TeenMinusTests · 27/07/2021 16:22

2 per bed, though we probably have a couple of extra single bed ones that are now too childish (that thinking about it I could sort out and charity shop).

Griselda1 · 27/07/2021 16:22

Far too many and I've a favourite Laura Ashley one which I wash and put back on so I've no need for them.

fassnk · 27/07/2021 16:23

I have 3 for each bed - one on, one in wash, one spare incase wash one isnt dry and theres illness or a small child weeing everywhere (potty training!). No seasonal sets.

CorrieALanus · 27/07/2021 16:23

Ooh so when do you crack out the Christmas ones then? Same day as the tree? And when is it back to plain usual duvet? Not tempted with an autumn duvet cover or two?

2 sets per bed, plus one extra double set and one extra single set. Nothing seasonal and sets are kept at least 5 years and thrown when they are worn out/tatty.

MrsEko · 27/07/2021 16:24

Two. Not themed. 🍁

My MIL buys new curtains twice a YEAR. She thinks we are a disgrace as we have had the same ones for ten years. She's always encouraging us to buy things. It's the only thing she is really interested in.

DGFB · 27/07/2021 16:24

About five sets for our bed and two each for the kids. Nothing seasonal

MrsEko · 27/07/2021 16:24

Two per bed though!

FranklySonImTheGaffer · 27/07/2021 16:24

I have 5 sets for my bed. 2 are very definitely summery ones (yellow flowers & hares on one, purple flowers on the other), 2 wintery ones (check / tartan one that I've only had a month or so and a dark purple one) then one that's quite simple.
If I had my way I'd own loads. I store them in the wiring cupboard which is huge and has no boiler in it.

I tend to swap between the 2 summery ones March to sept and before I had the check one, would use the winter one and the anytime one between Sept and March.
I'm not precious about it though - when we've had rubbish weather in the summer and I wanted to be cosy I put the winter one on.

On the other hand, we only have one set for the spare bed!

therocinante · 27/07/2021 16:24

I have about 6 sets but only because DH and I combined when we moved in together. 2 sets are thick brushed cotton I tend to use for winter, the others will get rotated around our bed and the spare room (until the wonderful day I can afford to drop a few hundred on a couple of sets of linen bedding and then I will donate the lot haha).

bettercalljimmy · 27/07/2021 16:25

Stupid TAAT

seven201 · 27/07/2021 16:25

We have two sets for our bed and only 1 duvet. We've never used the second set of bedding, we only have in case of an emergency I guess, we always use the same one. Dd has three (one is a Christmas one) plus a summer and winter duvet.

icedcoffees · 27/07/2021 16:25

Four, but one needs replacing as the dog tore a hole in it as a puppy.

Two summer sets.
One Christmas set.
One Teddy Bear set for winter.

FuzzyPenguin · 27/07/2021 16:26

For my bed 2 sets and a really old back up set which I don’t like.
For the DS far too many including a Christmas set, but he suffers from nosebleeds and sometimes on a bad week we can get through them all as we don’t own a tumble drier.

PolytheneRam · 27/07/2021 16:27

Also two per bed. Not seasonal.

CorrieALanus · 27/07/2021 16:27

Ah, I can understand the brushed cotton seasonal difference. That does make sense. Or a bit of flannel.

OP posts:
StarryStarrySocks · 27/07/2021 16:27

About 12. Blush I only have one bed. One is a Christmas one and the rest are just nice patterns.

LemonRoses · 27/07/2021 16:28

About three sets for each bed - although several beds are the same size. All white cotton.

GertietheGherkin · 27/07/2021 16:28

I've got loads 😬 and I mean LOADS 😃

There's just soooo many pretty ones out there, it's just so tempting to buy yet another.

I don't have seasonal ones, but they all have a similar colourway to them.

I'm starting to wonder now of there's such thing as a duvet cover addiction 😂
