Is it race, religion, status or lifestyle? In my experience it’s how one parents. What’s your experience?

It depends on which particular society. In UK? Percieved class imho. There are places where shade of skin (even same race) is more important etc.

Overall. Anything that can be judged.

FreeSpirits · 24/07/2021 17:43

And at the moment vaccination status

JustAWalkingTalkingCotBed · 24/07/2021 17:43

Unfortunately in todays society and virtuality via social media I'd sadly say appearance. Not just looks but also where you are, what you're doing, who you're with...

EspressoDoubleShot · 24/07/2021 17:44

We all have conscious and unconscious bias. Appearance, class, education, race are the usual and of course individual foibles

Bellend101 · 24/07/2021 17:44

Appearance 100%. That could be weight, physical ability, race... Appearance covers a lot of angles.

Willwebebuyingnumber11 · 24/07/2021 17:45

Weight
Job
Where you live
What you drive
What school you send your children to
What you name your children
How you dress your children
What you wear

It’s a depressingly long list

Tattoos

JustAWalkingTalkingCotBed · 24/07/2021 17:46

Personally I look at how kind they are to others, how much they love others and respect the world around them.

Susannahmoody · 24/07/2021 17:46

Accent
Race
Weight
Car you drive

EspressoDoubleShot · 24/07/2021 17:47

Ahh yes on mn a man not driving is seen as an individual failure and reason not to date.apparently

TheCrowening · 24/07/2021 17:47

Weight/appearance
Race and accent

lifehappened · 24/07/2021 17:47

Weight

Susannahmoody · 24/07/2021 17:47

Appearance is huge. People look at each other and think, are you my tribe?

LittleRed53 · 24/07/2021 17:48

I think it's like that thing where as soon as you start thinking about buying a red car, you suddenly see red cars everywhere.

What I mean is, whatever your current situation is, someone will likely be judgey with you. So if you're long term single, it'll feel like people judge that. If you're pregnant, people judge that. If you dress in a specific way, or like expensive holidays, or are a parent...

People judge everything, you just tend to notice the most, the thing that most personally affects you at the time (IMO).

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 24/07/2021 17:48

Appearance.

PicsInRed · 24/07/2021 17:49

Daring to attempt to step outside your "box" i.e. race, sex, class etc.

The majority have an idea of a social "norm" (a stereotype) and only the best of the best can prevail over this - the rest will struggle, be punished, often fail.

It's much harder to escape one's allotted station in life than pop media is willing to admit the world is much less fair than our elites want us to understand.

PicsInRed · 24/07/2021 17:49

This is so very true.
EmeraldShamrock · 24/07/2021 17:52

If I was to use MN as a guide then probably a lot.
I'm happy living my life so don't care much for how others judge me.
I can't change their mindset, I'm not harmful to anyone.

freelions · 24/07/2021 17:54

I agree that it is appearance

First impressions tend to be based on someone's appearance whether we like it or not. That's not to say that once you actually chat to someone and get to know them that first impressions can't be completely reversed though!

IrishGirl2020 · 24/07/2021 18:00

Appearance and weight first and foremost (really wish this wasn’t the case but it is)
Then things like accent, race, where you live
