It's all kicking off on ours! A local counsellor has put up access only signs on local roads that people use to avoid the massive traffic jams on the one main road out of the village. If you don't use the local roads you can be sitting in traffic for 45 mins.

This morning villagers sat in the street to stop people using the road, it's split the community! Grin up in arms they are!

What's happening in yours ?

@ExamStress2021 I've just seen the flipped over car too Shock

Royalbloo · 29/06/2021 21:08

Dog shit and parking, mainly...

Wallpapering · 29/06/2021 21:10

Cars is theme for past few weeks obviously blame is the outsiders aka commuters.

Am tempted to log into my fb (got naff one just to flog my shit and befriend no one) and ask them last time they used a bus instead of their car as train station is over 3mile hike. No logic in paying £5 bus fare for shit limited bus service when they can park in next town which is massive.

Always cats missing

Shit hit fan when residents of this town found out one of mods lived in neighbouring town. Lots got banned for swearing.

And always the I saw a police car going up such and such street hope all ok, duno why they just ain’t direct and just ask what fuck going on

ExamStress2021 · 29/06/2021 21:11

@NatMoz oh we’re definitely close by then! People complaining about homeless people making a nuisance of themselves too?

RoseMartha · 29/06/2021 21:12

One if the prominent posters sadly died from cancer. So there was a memorial thread for him.

Wallpapering · 29/06/2021 21:12

Oh we had one poo complainer who out did everyone by posting photo of child’s hand covered in shit

NatMoz · 29/06/2021 21:13

@ExamStress2021 yep! Hello neighbourGrin

JustMeAndWheatley · 29/06/2021 21:13

Bird trapped and flying round in a currently unoccupied house

People not following the rules when selling or donating stuff

Suspicious vans in the village (that always turn out to be driven by completely innocent people just going about their business)

hookiewookie29 · 29/06/2021 21:15

@FartleBarfle oh my God,that made me absolutely howl!!

lljkk · 29/06/2021 21:15

Recommendation seeking is maybe 60%

Fretting that Cats in strange places might be lost is a popular topic (& dogs)

(This video is seriously dull, though)

Happy noises about recent Fun Fair

Imissmoominmama · 29/06/2021 21:16

One of the admins on ours has clearly had a few after the match and is posting very dubious anti German memes…

Majorfluff · 29/06/2021 21:17

Big furore in our town about a new housing estate and conspiracy theories about associated work being done before council consultation on the plans is complete.

Gindrinker43 · 29/06/2021 21:17

Another local councillor one. This one is up before the local planning committee because she put up stables far bigger than permission was granted for.
Queue lots of comments about corrupt councillors and who else built a garage and managed to turn it in to a 3 bed house.

didireallysaythat · 29/06/2021 21:20

Brexit is, or isn't, responsible for the lack of lorry drivers. We can claim back, or not, the right for UK citizens to work minimum wage jobs.

Oh and what a lovely sunset. Again.

BonnyandPoppy · 29/06/2021 21:23

Ours is always full of photos of sheep eating peoples gardens and where the sheep are now and why can’t the farmers keep the sheep in their fields.

BonnyandPoppy · 29/06/2021 21:23

Three recent examples!

People on ours ask same thing over and over. At the moment about 6 posts in a row are where can I go get a covid test (we are not in the UK). I am going to reply to one or them at some point and ask why they didn't just read the replies from the previous 100 questions that are the same. And the replies are all the same people replying.

Next there is the electricity outages. One area is having a problem and they are replacing a transformer. Power goes out. 20 people all post the same thing that it's gone out. Then they asking each other are you in x street. No in y street. OK because mine is out and I'm in x street. Coucillor will reply. On each post. Then someone else from z street asks the same.

And God help if the bin collection isn't done. Everyone posting about when the truck is coming. Wel I don't know Gloria, because we don't work for the council so how about you just leave the bin out until they do come. Then when they have been, had anyone seen my bin, 5 X street is missing. Yes love its here outside 7 X street.

Lost dogs, lost birds, never a cat.

Car driving too fast and registration of car posted to the page. Told they are a menace and a hooligan and much more.

Always someone looking for a job and all the comments are how can you afford a phone and data if you don't have a job.

It's exhausting.

Grainjar · 29/06/2021 21:25

How do they get up there!

Bythehairywartsonmywitchychin · 29/06/2021 21:26

Any scrap men about?
Lost cats
Found cats
Lost dogs
Found dogs
Found keys (funnily enough not lost keys)
Found bikes (bicycles)
Found motor bikes
Stollen/lost motor bikes
Litter
Council not cutting the grass
People complaining about travellers
People complaining about teens (generally get deleted)

DolphinBlue1 · 29/06/2021 21:26

On the local one every post has been asking if anyone is having problems with their internet, then as it started to be fixed people saying mine still isn't on. Some workmen cut through a BT line earlier doing some work and the whole postcodes internet went down for hours.

On our City wide page everyone complaining about the massive rave that was held in an area of the city that has the highest Covid rates in the UK. People are outraged that the students don't care about their grandparents

NerrSnerr · 29/06/2021 21:28

The same 2 dogs keep being found running around a field next to a main road (owner will wander down at some point).

Overgrown hedges and people parking on the pavements.

Lots of cats, some lost cats, other cats that look lost.

Flamglimglubberty · 29/06/2021 21:33

Update on the missing bench... It was removed by the parish council. It was "unsafe". Everyone is distraught, the bench was a much loved member of the community. Doreen and Doris were sitting on it just yesterday and it was absolutely fine, didn't seem damaged.

However the plot has now thickened, as another poster has noticed our village sign is also missing.

Meghan Markle is still the leading suspect. Dave is adamant it's a publicity stunt for the new book.

quincymincy · 29/06/2021 21:39

It's like bizarre matching pairs here:
I've lost my cat/ dead cat found :(
Come and get your vaccine/ who knows where I I can get a vaccine?
Whose parcel is this/ where is my parcel
Stray dog/ found a dog
Found a bank card/ lost a bank card (insert purse/wallet/phone etc etc)
Then the usual questions of best Chinese/ Indian/ Greek/ dr/ gardener/ primary school/ secondary school .... all very boring. And yes to the gps not answering the phones on Monday morning accompanied by a screenshot of phone with the call time on it- that's new.

Onesailwait · 29/06/2021 21:39

We are in the middle of a heatwave (not uk).
Where can I get an a/c unit - repeat post every 15 mins
Where can I get a fan - repeat post every 15mins
Where can I get a paddling pool - as above
I think we established by at least late Saturday there are none of the above left anywhere on the island. Yet the same question over & over.

Pearbear · 29/06/2021 21:42

Can anyone fit me in for lashes/nails

Cheapest price to take this pile of junk to the tip

Why were the high school kids not allowed to leave at the end of the school day. Turns out someone with a knife was seen in the school grounds.
