I feel embarrassed writing this at my age but today I'm off work and all of my friends are at work.
I really want to go to the beach it's got to be lovely and warm here today.
It's a 10/15 min walk from my house so not far at all.
Aibu to go alone?
I know most people go with families etc but I really want to go down.
I just want to go down, relax, maybe get some chips and ice cream and enjoy the nice weather.

Definitely go alone!

FindingMeno · 09/06/2021 08:11

Of course I would!
Enjoy it Smile

SnoopsCaliforniaRoll · 09/06/2021 08:11

Definitely go! This is the dream - doing what you want, when you want at your own pace.

I am so jealous Grin enjoy!

RealisticSketch · 09/06/2021 08:12

Amazed you need to ask. That would be heaven!

Palavah · 09/06/2021 08:12

Why wouldn't you? Sounds ideal

allofthecheese · 09/06/2021 08:12

Most definitely. Enjoy it!

SticksAndStoned · 09/06/2021 08:12

Definitely go alone. Sounds great!

angelopal · 09/06/2021 08:12

Go for it. Plenty of people go on their own. Sounds like a lovely day out.

lifeinlimbo2020 · 09/06/2021 08:12

💯 sounds lovely

Babyiskickingmyribs · 09/06/2021 08:12

Yes! Go alone. Take a book or buy a magazine so you have the option of relaxing and enjoying the sun and fresh air while doing a totally normal solo activity.

supercee · 09/06/2021 08:12

Absolutely go alone! I work shifts so always on different time off days from friends. More often than not they don't want to come anyway so I go plenty places alone. It's great! Take a good book or something to listen to if that's your bag.

Think I might do that myself this afternoon if the sun makes an appearance!

Okbye · 09/06/2021 08:13

Go! If I could do that by myself I’d jump at the chance!

Unfortunately I’m about 4hrs from a beach lol 😄 go and have a lovely day 👍

Tuckedinbelly · 09/06/2021 08:13

What's the point of a day off if you can't do something nice? Personally I'd go down when it's less busy with a coffee and bacon roll for breakfast but yes go why on earth wouldn't you?!

Frolickingfoam · 09/06/2021 08:14

Why are you posting about this on mumsnet 😅 just go to the beach!

PiuVinoPerFavore · 09/06/2021 08:14

Go! What I would give to be doing that today, and even better to be alone. Enjoy!

Spartak · 09/06/2021 08:15

I've been single forever, so I do things like this alone all the time. I love just pleasing myself, and there's no one to judge if I have three icecreams!

I normally take a book with me as well and get lost in it.

NoraLuka · 09/06/2021 08:15

Go! Surely you won't be the only one on your own anyway, as it's a weekday - not sure if it is still half term in the UK!

SmidgenofaPigeon · 09/06/2021 08:16

I’m honestly perplexed at why you wouldn’t Confused or why you’d have to wonder if it was ‘okay’ to do a perfectly normal and nice thing by yourself?

littlefireseverywhere · 09/06/2021 08:16

Yes, go alone with a book or podcast. Bliss!!

oneglassandpuzzled · 09/06/2021 08:17

Why on earth would going alone be a problem?!

Mydogisagentleman · 09/06/2021 08:18

I would have no hesitation.
We live 12 miles from the coast, my DH is flying to Portugal next week, I can’t go because of the isolation requirements and work commitments so me and the dog will be along at home for a week.
I think him and me will be going on lone adventures

Mydogisagentleman · 09/06/2021 08:18

Or even alone

Frogcorset · 09/06/2021 08:20

Seriously, OP, why on earth are you asking? I see these posts on here about whether people dare to go to the cinema or out for lunch by themselves, but this is even stranger! Do you think that the beach is a family-only location?

LadyMonet · 09/06/2021 08:23

Of course I'm so envious of you living near a beach. I'd be there like a shot! Have a lovely day.

HereComesYourMam · 09/06/2021 08:24

If you're not used to doing things on your own, it can feel a bit weird at first - I get it. But you'll soon get used to it and it'll be absolutely fine! Definitely take a book or magazine, and enjoy Smile
