Okay, not fond of a lot the man has to say. However, his sons, admittedly grown of course, are receiving death threats over Meghan.

Thats not ok.

Tinkerbell456 · 29/03/2021 10:13

His sons have families of their own to protect.

People are held responsible for the actions of their relatives. Boris Johnson gets criticised for what his father does, so it's no surprise Piers Morgan's family get death threats for what he says.

Not right, but there are a lot of idiots out there.

Tinkerbell456 · 29/03/2021 10:18

Criticised=fine. Death threats to someone’s family? Not fine.

People who make death threats should be dealt with. That's never OK. It doesn't matter who they make them to. People need to be held accountable, quite honestly if an employee behaved that way then I'd be looking to sack them. Much like Piers deserved sacking.

Tinkerbell456 · 29/03/2021 10:22

I don’t dispute his sacking.

CloudFormations · 29/03/2021 10:25

Of course it’s not ok. Hopefully it will help Piers learn how wrong he was to incite such huge levels of hate against Meghan. Maybe having seen his sons experience death threats he will feel suitable ashamed that his behaviour led to Meghan receiving death threats.

Sadly I don’t think he has the decency for that, but we can hope.

GNCQ · 29/03/2021 10:26

Well it's quite sad they were born to such a wanker I feel sorry for them even without the death threats

Tinkerbell456 · 29/03/2021 10:29

True GNCQ.

Can’t agree with the death threats. In the grand scheme of things I don’t think he said anything wrong. In this case I agree with him.

Tinkerbell456 · 29/03/2021 10:40

So piers has grandkids. Okay. Maybe he should stop causing strife like this?

OP posts:
AnyFucker · 29/03/2021 10:42

I don’t think anything Piers Morgan has said or done justifies his family, or anyone else, being threatened like this

greeneyedlulu · 29/03/2021 10:44

He called meghan out on the bullshit, fair enough, but he is OTT when it comes to her because she dropped him like a hot potato and he's never gotten over that. However death threats made to anyone are wrong and those people should be held accountable. People are just strange these days. I honestly don't get what people get from doing it, does it put a spring in their step for day or what? Bizarre!

Tinkerbell456 · 29/03/2021 10:46

I’m not fond of MM but this is beside the point. Am I wrong to think it’s weird that he seems so obcessed with having had a drink with MM a few years back?

Apologies for the double post. I just want to point out the bleedin’ obvious- I’ve never met MM.

For Mm, please read PM!

Eh? He is entitled to say what he wants. It's the death threats that are the problem, not him I don't necessarily agree with him but it's his right, let's not erode that
Thehawki · 29/03/2021 10:52

People are really dumb. I’m sure his sons really don’t have anything to do with their dads opinion on Megan? Even so, why would Piers Morgan get death threats over this, that’s just ridiculous. Unfortunately this seems to be how the internet works right now, people have an opinion that others don’t like and then they get death threats. We need way more laws and protections in place for things like this.

SeasonFinale · 29/03/2021 10:52

You mean his son who is just as vociferous and nasty on twitter as him? Surely he is getting the reaction he is seeking in the same way as his father is. They thrive on it. If it were an innocent person being tarred with the same brush without any input from them then yes I would agree its not on. But take a look at his own tweets, he courts it the way his dad does (frequently tagging his Dad to get more likes/retweets) so nah can't feel pity other than the usual surprise that people feel it is ok to respond in that manner.

SnarkyBag · 29/03/2021 10:54

He’s been given the platform of national TV to bully and harass a woman he barely knows relentlessly for years. He was perfectly happy to fuel hate towards one person so can’t start whining when people from the other extreme direct the hate back.

People who send death threats deserve to have the book thrown at them but I think Piers operates at just a disgusting level so no sympathy from me.

I have no opinion on MM either way never met her wouldn’t know if she’s awful or amazing but he crossed the line with his behaviour long ago

toffeebutterpopcorn · 29/03/2021 10:54

It’s a commentary on our society where a tv personality has panic buttons and received death threats... I once worked with a man who was also... an arms dealer (that was his sideline) who was arrested for a coup attempt (so not exactly Mother Theresa, with proper ‘enemies’). He slept well in his bed at night and didn’t have death threats or protection.

Northernshepherd · 29/03/2021 10:54

I'm a Meghan fan and think he clearly has a bee in his bonnet about her rejection. But I don't think him saying he didn't believe her was a big deal. I really don't understand why he can't have an opinion on it.

Ponoka7 · 29/03/2021 10:56

Tweets from his sons like this one has started this,

""Of all the ‘celebrities’ I’ve got to know this lady is easily one of the kindest. She loses her job now for spitting facts in defence of @piersmorgan but history will remember her so well for it.
"Thank you Sharon. Respect. And f**k cancel culture gimps, the people are sick of you.""

They jumped in on an argument that was about defending racism. Death threats shouldn't be happening but this is a subject which is highly emotive. They haven't been targeted out of nowhere. Katie Hopkins (and their like) family knew to never comment, they need to take a step back and go silent for a while. Sharon Osbourne has been accused of racism against coworkers, they need to distance themselves so the two aren't confused.
