Okay, not fond of a lot the man has to say. However, his sons, admittedly grown of course, are receiving death threats over Meghan.

I think the things is he can have an opinion but he can't be so childish as to throw a strop and be vindictive towards a colleague who when asked disagreed with him - its how he progressed how can he criticise others - he seems to believe only he can be right - he doesn't like when others do not agree with him and can't handle it - quite narcissistic!

derxa · 29/03/2021 14:38

@AnyFucker

I don’t think anything Piers Morgan has said or done justifies his family, or anyone else, being threatened like this
Yep.
enigma16 · 29/03/2021 14:49

SO is certainly a horrible, ignorant bully. I also think anyone who is in such complete denial about the racism that is in all of us has a problem.

GladysTheGroovyMule · 29/03/2021 14:56

Death threats are never ok- against anyone. On a separate note, Piers Morgan is foul and his sons seem to be not much different. Having seen a clip of Sharon Osborne on the tv show she was sacked from, she deserved getting the boot. It was awful to watch, screeching at a person of colour to teach her how not to be racist or some shit. Get in the fucking bin Sharon. She’s odious anyway mind you.

Mittens030869 · 29/03/2021 14:56

It’s scary the way this country is going that it is deemed ok to threaten, or cancel people who differ in opinion to others. And it’s disgusting to pick on innocent members of their family.

^I agree with this.

Aloethere · 29/03/2021 14:57

*MM received death threats too, didn't she...?

But PM is a White man so his voice will be heard the loudest in his relentless determination to bring down a woman for the crime of ghosting him years ago.*

MM had a whole 2 hour Oprah special, she isn't having any problems having her voice heard. She could go to any media outlet she likes and they would give her 'a voice'. All she has to do is take to instagram, post a photo of her and her hubby and she is all over the internet.

I have no opinion on PM, I'm not in the UK so have never seen him on tv or followed him on social media etc, I'm sure he is privileged but so is MM.

I hate all of this airtime that is given to rich, well connected people, they don't need it. They need to start using their influence for good instead of all of this self serving nonsense bickering.

Plenty of people on here have been blaming Jeremy Corbyn for the actions of his brother

DioneTheDiabolist · 29/03/2021 15:01

I am interested in meaningful engagement. Experience and knowledge has taught me that doing someone else's internet research for them is a pointless waste of my time as they mostly just want to argue not actually learn anything at all.

Besides I'm still stuck in Covid induced home schooling. Educating my DC is enough work for me. If you @Alsohuman or any other adult on this site wants to be educated, yous can do it yourself.

Twinkie01 · 29/03/2021 15:04

His treatment of Millie Dowlers parents when he was in charge of the pile of Sunday shots was much worse than not believing MM's 'truth' shame people didn't get more irate about that.

enigma16 · 29/03/2021 15:04

innocents members of their family

""Only direct thoughts on these," Spencer wrote, before adding: "Harry/meg: stunning PR job, well played.

"Alex weatherman: always got on with him, can’t hate on a guy for taking such an easy chance to boost his career."

GladysTheGroovyMule · 29/03/2021 15:16

@BuggerBognor

Incidentally *@GladysTheGroovyMule, Underwood defended the actions of her* friend George Lopez over some racist remarks by him that made PM’s criticism of MM sound mild. She plainly has a problem accepting that we all have inherent capacity to be prejudiced, though.
A white person demanding a person of colour educate them about racism is all kinds of wrong. Educate yourself. That’s what my post was about really, along with death threats are never ok no matter how much someone has irked you. I’m not familiar with the lady SO was “crying” and screeching at but I was uncomfortable watching it and it really pissed me off.
IrmaFayLear · 29/03/2021 15:23

It’s really irrelevant whether Piers Morgan is a raving racist or a lovely much-maligned gentleman.... making death threats to someone’s family is WRONG.

Are there people on this thread who think it’s actually okay to threaten people and their family members if you strongly believe what they have said is unacceptable? That it’s excusable?

Yes people on here are twisting themselves out to say that death threats to Piers Morgan's family are acceptable. I don't think death threats to anyone are acceptable. Even death threats to convicted murderers and their families.
derxa · 29/03/2021 15:30

*twisting themselves inside out

Mittens030869 · 29/03/2021 15:35

I think you’d get the same reaction whatever you say about PM. It’s turned into an OTT loathing, as if he were a pantomime villain.

I’m not a fan at all, and think his vitriol towards MM is ridiculous. But this really is going too far.

shame people didn't get more irate about that

People were, and still are, irate about this. It's still brought up regularly to Piers Morgan.

Not on here of course, there won't be many who'd want to pick up on this. I've not really seen it as a conversation, anyway

But certainly on Twitter, and in articles elsewhere. He ignores all commentary about that.

All is drowned in a sea of 'this is cancel culture!' and 'wokes are at it again!' statements by bigots who use these phrases to bemoan the fact they can't be open with their abhorrent views because we are 'too pc.

& because they will support what Piers Morgan stands for no matter what.

enigma16 · 29/03/2021 15:57

No, definitely not. There is no excuse for death threats. What I think is, as someone said upthread, that it shouldn't shut down the whole conversation if some people make vile threats.

DeeCeeCherry · 29/03/2021 15:58

We know death threats are wrong. People are going on about that aspect alone so as to shut down criticism of PM.

If you criticise him then it follows you agree with death threats. Or some such.

Are there supposed to be rows of the same commentary

'Death threats are wrong'.

& That's it?

Games people play

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 29/03/2021 16:01

I didn’t believe H&M either.

No-one deserves death threats for having an opinion.

No-one.

justsaymaybe · 29/03/2021 16:37

Calling someone racist for disagreeing with a black person is also shutting down criticism in exactly the same way.

Death threats are always wrong but it's the way of the internet now, "be kind - no not you, I don't agree with what you're saying so go and die in a fire."

And just to remove all doubt, PM is a terrible person but is entitled to his opinions, the same as everyone else.

enigma16 · 29/03/2021 16:44

Calling someone racist for disagreeing with a black person is also shutting down criticism in exactly the same way.

But I don't think that is what has happened here.

justsaymaybe · 29/03/2021 16:58

He said he didn't believe everything she said in her interview, surely that's a valid opinion?
I don't believe everything she said, I don't believe everything Harry said, I wouldn't believe everything the royal family would say if they had an interview addressing this, I wouldn't believe everything Piers Morgan said.
Not every opinion you don't agree with is racist, sexist, transphobic, bigoted or whatever else is thrown out, however much people like to shout that it is.
Those words used to actually mean something, now they just seem to mean someone that doesn't agree with you.

DioneTheDiabolist · 29/03/2021 17:07

He said he didn't believe everything she said in her interview, surely that's a valid opinion?

It's as valid as any of the rest of his opinions.
However when you imply that someone is lying about their MH state and your employer is in a partnership with a MH charity and promoting a Let's Talk message, that is a conflict. Piers solved that conflict by resigning.
