freeus · 19/03/2021 19:10

Oh has been caught speeding, he's already done a speed awareness course 2 years ago.
he's complaining that the insurance is going to up now. I said I don't want to take the wrath for him it's not my problem!

AIBU?
Apparently I've got no loyalty to him and I'm not backing him up.

Not to mention it's illegal

PallyTally · 19/03/2021 19:11

So he wants you to say you were driving instead of him?

nocoolnamesleft · 19/03/2021 19:11

It's illegal.

FinallyHere · 19/03/2021 19:12

Indeed jail sentence.

Google it.

Seafog · 19/03/2021 19:13

Fuck that noise.
He can deal with his own consequences

Ggeemerc · 19/03/2021 19:13

He obviously needs the 2nd course since he learned nothing from the first.

HollowTalk · 19/03/2021 19:13

Who were the MPs who did this?

freeus · 19/03/2021 19:13

Yeah
@PallyTally

Been on and on at me all day I've really had enough.

OP posts:
Ohdoleavemealone · 19/03/2021 19:13

Wow. If he doesn't want the trouble he could always try not breaking the speed limit!

YANBU.

Chronicallymothering · 19/03/2021 19:14

Google Vicky Pryce case. It's a firm no from me. He should slow down

PubicMenace · 19/03/2021 19:14

I don't think you can take the course twice.

frazzledasarock · 19/03/2021 19:14

It’s illegal.

He’s a dickhead trying to coerce you into taking the blame for his shitty driving. He will just have to take the points.

Chronicallymothering · 19/03/2021 19:15

It was Chris Huhne who was the MP, she went to jail. The former MP for Peterborough tried the same with her brother

FinallyHere · 19/03/2021 19:15

Chris Huhne and Vicky Pryce

Each jailed eight months for doing exactly that

Iwant2move · 19/03/2021 19:15

Please don’t do it. You will both be sent to prison.

Unanananana · 19/03/2021 19:16

@Ggeemerc

He obviously needs the 2nd course since he learned nothing from the first.
This. Plus its illegal. Tell him to do one and suck up the consequences of his actions. And make sure HE pays the increased insurance premiums. Has he not learnt that his actions could kill soneone? Just as bad as drink drivers in my opinion.
CareBear50 · 19/03/2021 19:16

Not your circus, not your monkeys.

If you can't do the time....don't do the crime

Marvelwife123 · 19/03/2021 19:16

I know someone that did this any they got caught! Please don’t do it or you might end up in from of a judge

KihoBebiluPute · 19/03/2021 19:16

He wants you to lie for him? What a git! Yanbu and might want to consider whether this man is actually worth investing any more of your time with. You only get one life. Be careful wasting your time with a so called "partner" who puts his own happiness so far above yours.

LibrariesGiveUsPower45321 · 19/03/2021 19:16

YANBU.

Taking someone else’s penalty points and perverting the course of justice is an average of 10 months in prison.

Theunamedcat · 19/03/2021 19:17

My mom has taken it twice it was a few years apart and yes she is old enough to know better she has been caught a few times just over the speed limit "just" (not doing a hundred in a thirty zone)

freeus · 19/03/2021 19:17

I'm not doing it I refuse!

OP posts:
frazzledasarock · 19/03/2021 19:17

He’s been caught speeding in under three years, he’ll have to take the points.

He will not be offered a speed awareness course.

FOJN · 19/03/2021 19:17

How was he caught speeding? Is it possible they will have a photo which shows who was driving, well at least one that would show it wasn't you. It's a huge risk to take, I'd stick to your guns. He's being incredibly unreasonable to ask. Perhaps his increased premiums will focus his mind on sticking to the speed limit.

dontsaveusername · 19/03/2021 19:17

Well its fine if you want to both add a criminal record to the speeding fine!

orangejuicer · 19/03/2021 19:18

Why are you wasting your time on him?
