Bought a lovely Victorian flat with my partner however the previous occupant left this truly awful painting. Am I being unreasonable to just throw it away? Partner seems to think we could sell it! I just want it gone as it’s giving me nightmares just looking at it.

Am I being unreasonable?

No matter how many times you sell that painting it will end up back on your wall in its place
LemmysAceCard · 01/03/2021 22:20
Jesus no wonder it got left behind
Whatdoin · 01/03/2021 22:21
I see why they left it!
DP is right though, someone will buy it, the previous owners clearly did. It saves it going to landfill.
Although maybe it belongs to the flat & that’s why they left. They’d tried to dispose of it several times but it kept turning back up mwahaaa!

Eww I was gonna say stash it under your bed in case they come back for it but bugger that!
Looks like that thing under the bench in Harry Potter 😬
Ponoka7 · 01/03/2021 22:22
I think that you should sel it, it's good. It should go quickly.
TylluanBach · 01/03/2021 22:23
I actually quite like it,I'm a weirdo though
LaceyBetty · 01/03/2021 22:23
I think you need to burn it or something! Although, that might release the evil.
tunnocksreturns2019 · 01/03/2021 22:24
I couldn’t have that in my house. I see why you ‘want it gone ASAP’ as they say on my local Facebook selling pages 🤣
1stMrsF · 01/03/2021 22:24
I agree with PP - you need not just to throw it away but to destroy it. Urghh!
chillied · 01/03/2021 22:25
Sold! to TylluanBach.
Post it to them!
Alexandernevermind · 01/03/2021 22:25
Is it signed?
Rosebean92 · 01/03/2021 22:27
I’m not usually the superstitious type but it really does have a bad energy around it
ChardonnaysPetDragon · 01/03/2021 22:27
Burn the fucker.
Sparklesocks · 01/03/2021 22:28
I wouldn’t throw it away without some sort of room cleansing first - looks like it’ll come back otherwise 😄
Rosebean92 · 01/03/2021 22:28
It does have a signature which I can’t quite make out and there’s nothing written on the back
Runnerduck34 · 01/03/2021 22:28
I'd chuck it out without a moment's hesitation.
PicsInRed · 01/03/2021 22:29
Yuck.
Have it appraised just in case as ugly shit can be surprisingly valuable. If it's worthless, burn the evil clean out of it.

Sell it, definitely. Someone spent a long time painting that and it would be awful to throw it away. I quite like it, but I don't think the DCs would (they tolerate my skull collection).
I have quite a few random originals in my house that I've 'rescued' from the tip, boot sales and charity shops. None as wierd as that though!
Anniegetyourgun · 01/03/2021 22:34
I hate to tell you this, but it's not a painting.
It's a photograph.
(Tell us in the morning how much sleep you got tonight.)
rawalpindithelabrador · 01/03/2021 22:34
I'd burn that.
BlackeyedSusan · 01/03/2021 22:36
yabu canvasses are expensive... it can be painted over and used again.
TylluanBach · 01/03/2021 22:37
How much would you sell it for?
Onjnmoeiejducwoapy · 01/03/2021 22:38
My first thought was can you sell the house 😂 FUCK it’s horrifying
Penistoe · 01/03/2021 22:38
Make sure you add salt before you burn it.
