To throw away this painting - with pic

Bought a lovely Victorian flat with my partner however the previous occupant left this truly awful painting. Am I being unreasonable to just throw it away? Partner seems to think we could sell it! I just want it gone as it’s giving me nightmares just looking at it.

Get your husband to take a picture and try & ebay it? While he's waiting, face the pic to the wall. If it does let sell in a week, bin it.

Also, what is beautiful in your home is your floorboards!! I'm just trying to buy some boards like that from the reclamation yard!! :))

For those who haven’t read the full thread - I am fine and the painting is gone :) I left it outside by the road! I posted an update a few days ago but it must have been missed. I highly doubt it was worth anything but I really couldn’t care less. It was awful and I’m happy it’s gone.

Changing your user name when you are the OP of a thread always causes that problem, most people miss your updates. You know how rarely people read all the posts on a long thread.

Are you sure it’s actually gone though as in someone else picked it up and made off with it? It could have reentered your flat, and is now under the floorboards

Take a photo of the signiture and post it here. Is it a print or an original?

People find art into anything. You may not be able to relate to this art but someone else can and will probably buy it.

Whoever the artist is put a lot of his feelings and emotions into it. Even if it is disturbing and concerning. Let someone else have it.

Might want to get the house cleansed!! Sage smudge, holy water, ring of salt... That is horrible! And that's coming from someone with odd dark taste. You could burn that thing and it would come back to life.

OH is right though, someone will buy it.

Just read your update. Be interesting to see who took it! Presumably not a human but some kind of weird shapeless thing that comes out at night.
