To throw away this painting - with pic

Bought a lovely Victorian flat with my partner however the previous occupant left this truly awful painting. Am I being unreasonable to just throw it away? Partner seems to think we could sell it! I just want it gone as it’s giving me nightmares just looking at it.

Give it to a charity shop, if only so it can end up on the Terrible Art in Charity Shops FB page. It would give me the serious heebies.

The more I look at it the more I’ve convinced myself that it was painted with actual blood!

I like it. I paint that kind of thing, but I'm not as good as this artist.

I think that somewhere on MN is a woman who's husband painted that for his A-level art and was so proud of it he liked it displayed on the wall. When they recently moved house and she was able to sneakily leave it behind, then feign dismay when it appeared to be missing from the boxes at the new house.

It's hideous, but if you can get money for it, it'd be a shame to toss it out. I'd list it somewhere, give it a set amount of time (a few days? a week?), and if it hasn't been snapped up by then, I'd light it on fire throw it away.

Alternate plan: Set it outside with a "Free to a Good Home" note and it will be gone within a few hours. (At least that's how things work around here!)

It reminds me of a Pink Floyd album cover. Still wouldn't want to come upon it unexpectedly though...especially in the half dark
