I watched a programme about her last night and she was so charming.
It would just make for a really jolly afternoon.

I can’t think of anyone who would be better company, can you?

I agree, she is fabulous!

JayAlfredPrufrock · 16/01/2021 09:42

Love her.

GeordieGreigsButtButtZoom · 16/01/2021 09:46

I love her too.

lemonsandlimes123 · 16/01/2021 09:47

She is amazing. Cannot think of a bad thing to say about her. You might enjoy the Dolly Parton’s America podcasts

WellTidy · 16/01/2021 09:50

She seems really self deprecating, quick witted and rounded. She’s also a great humanitarian. Welcome for tea here anytime.

daisydaisypoison · 16/01/2021 09:53

Oh I agree too.I watched her Glastonbury set last night. She is wonderful.

MrsClatterbuck · 16/01/2021 09:53

Not only is she a terrific singer songwriter but she also is a very savvy business person.

lljkk · 16/01/2021 09:54

I know DP is 1000% fully lovely person... but I hate her face, the 'work' she's had done. I'm no beauty Queen myself, of course, but I wouldn't expect to be invited anywhere either.

eh??? I agree, she overdid it. She as so beautiful when younger but what has that got to do with anything? I am ugly as fuck but I still expect to be invited to friends Confused

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 16/01/2021 10:15

She is wonderful!

I would love to have a chat with Dolly, I love her songs, when I hear her talk she makes me feel happy and she does so much for charity, all low key but just amazingly generous.

I'd be concerned she'd be knocking my fine china tea cups off the table. Wink

june2007 · 16/01/2021 10:18

I love that quote she is meant to have said. "It takes a lot of money to look this cheap"..

UndyingDeathdefying · 16/01/2021 10:19

“when I hear her talk she makes me feel happy”

Exactly.

I would happily have Dolly over for tea. I would love listening to her stories and she seems a genuinely kind person.

Craftycorvid · 16/01/2021 10:26

Love her! She can come round ours for a brew any time - and if Miriam Margolyes happens to be passing, she’s very welcome to pop in as well.

schmockdown · 16/01/2021 10:30

I watched a Netflix documentary about her a couple of months ago. She's absolutely bloody marvellous. Talented, intelligent and a real head for business. She really was a trailblazer. Love that she keeps her husband out of the media circus too.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 16/01/2021 10:32

"Table Manners Podcast" actually did have her round for tea! Well, via Zoom. Worth a listen - she was incredibly charming on it.

MatildaTheCat · 16/01/2021 10:35

I want the Dolly vaccine. It might make me more like her 🤣. She’s one of those performers who have grown far, far more popular than they were when ‘in their prime’.

FitzsimmonsMarvel · 16/01/2021 10:36

Any dolly fans should watch ‘Dumplin’ on Netflix!

twinsufficient · 16/01/2021 10:36

Disclaimer: this may be totally false, but did I hear that Dolly helped fund one of the Covid vaccines?

Songsofexperience · 16/01/2021 10:37

Love that she keeps her husband out of the media circus too.
No but her most famous song is about him straying, isn't it? She taught him a lesson there Grin
I've always loved Dolly and country music in general (not cool when you were a teen in the 90s lol)

UndyingDeathdefying · 16/01/2021 10:38

“I want the Dolly vaccine. It might make me more like her 🤣”

Yes!

My favourite Dolly moment was many years back on Graham Norton when he asked if she ever got fed up with people thinking ‘I Will Always Love You’ was Whitney Houston’s song.

She said, ‘Are you kidding? The amount of money that made me? I send that woman a Christmas card every year!’

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 16/01/2021 10:40

I absolutely adore her.

I dont know why people go on about her surgeries, that has zero to do with her being a lovely, genuine, caring person. Its her body and she can do what she damn well likes to it.

UndyingDeathdefying · 16/01/2021 10:41

“her most famous song is about him straying, isn't it?”

In last night’s programme there was footage where she talked about how now he lies on the sofa all afternoon and that she thinks about calling up Jolene and asking her to come and get him Grin
