I have a boy and girl. They are mostly opposites. I much prefer my son's personality. They're adults btw.

Showmethefood · 27/12/2020 18:43

Yes but I only have one child.

speakout · 27/12/2020 18:44

No.
My ( adult) children are very different, I love them in different ways.
No favourites.

formerbabe · 27/12/2020 18:44

No they're both equally annoying Wink

OohKittens · 27/12/2020 18:45

No but I have a favourite cat

Missfelipe · 27/12/2020 18:45

My mother definitely has. Actually said out loud and in public that she didn’t feel maternal until she had my brother...that’s after me and my elder sister btw 🧐 hopefully those that do hide it a bit better than she does!

Weirdlynormal · 27/12/2020 18:46

Each day.

MardyBicardi · 27/12/2020 18:48

No, I tend to prefer the one that’s not giving me too much shit at that given time but that’s changeable and I like both their personalities.
I like many have always felt like my Mum preferred my sibling so it’s one of my hang ups.
I’ve always felt really paranoid about making them feel less loved or like the one that isn’t up to my standards.
I’m really not saying that’s what’s going on here, just that my experience shapes my perception.

Yes but I think it's due to stage / age rather than anything else. Eldest DD is six and I'm finding it quite a trying age - wants to be independent but also still wants a lot of attention. Gets quite stroppy. Younger DD is two and I love the toddler stage, she's a bit behind on speech so has quite baby like talk at times, and is very easy going still (as was elder DD as a toddler). Fully expect that by the time the little one is six and the big one is ten the favourite will have changed!

evrey · 27/12/2020 18:49

No not at all (I have 5) . I have times when I connect with one more than another. But my love for them all is equal. However I do have a favourite dog .

Bearsinmotion · 27/12/2020 18:50

I always have a favourite. Today it’s DD1 Xmas Grin

AlexaShutUp · 27/12/2020 18:50

Yes, but I only have one child. It's one of the best things about having an only child imo - no favoritism and no sibling rivalry!

ikltownofboothlehem · 27/12/2020 18:50

I'm with @Showmethefood. The cats each have a favourite hooman. We joke that they're our dæmons.

toolazytothinkofausername · 27/12/2020 18:51

I love them both equally, but would chose different children for different activities.

If I could only take 1 child to a restaurant I'd take DC2, whereas if I could only take 1 child to a museum I'd take DC1.

Indecisive12 · 27/12/2020 18:52

No favouritism but one is far easier than the other.

Howmanysleepsnow · 27/12/2020 18:52

No. But each of my 4 DC insist I have... and they all insist they’re it!
DH does have a favourite, but they haven’t guessed that!

WouldstrokeTomHardy · 27/12/2020 18:52

I think I do yes. I have two who live independently and the two youngest at home. I get on with them all in different ways but one is probably my favourite. I think it's because that particular DC is most like me and we never clash, we like similar things, have the same sense of humour etc.

Now this DC is the one that has caused me the most heartache and worry. Strange.

Franklbaum · 27/12/2020 18:52

My mum prefers my older brother to me. Painfully obvious.

RonObvious · 27/12/2020 18:53

Absolutely! Shame it’s not one of mine...

I have three and no, I don’t have a favourite.
DC1 is the easiest, and is a really lovely human being. DC2 more difficult, but very funny, quirky and loving. She makes me laugh and every day. DC3 is ‘the baby’ and generally a dream. I like and love them all equally, in different ways.

SimonJT · 27/12/2020 18:55

Yes, the cat.

LunaNorth · 27/12/2020 18:55

I don’t have a favourite, but I have one that’s a lot easier to get along with.

They’re adults, btw.

Napqueen1234 · 27/12/2020 18:55

No I don’t. I’d hate to have a favourite how could you choose between them? And how must the least favourite feel? I think favouritism between siblings is so cruel.

megletthesecond · 27/12/2020 18:57

No. But one child is easier than the other. I get quite sad about it tbh.

isseys4xmastinselcats · 27/12/2020 18:57

got to admit my daughter is my favourite i love her brothers to bits but over the years she has been the least trouble to raise the boys have had their moments of me tearing my hair out all grown up and left home now and i get on brilliantly with all of them
