I have a boy and girl. They are mostly opposites. I much prefer my son's personality. They're adults btw.

OP posts:
HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 27/12/2020 18:57

Nope, I love them both differently but equally.

My DMum loves my brother more than she loves me, but I was DDad's favourite so I don't feel too hard done by.

Soubriquet · 27/12/2020 18:58

No I don’t.

However, I can relate to one better than the other in certain things.

However, the other one is more snuggly and loving.

So basically they both have their own redeeming features

WeLovePeaSoup · 27/12/2020 18:59

@Showmethefood I was just about to say the same 😁😁

OverTheRainbow88 · 27/12/2020 18:59

Yes, but who changes hourly depending on what’s going on!

Laiste · 27/12/2020 19:01

I have 3 adult DDs and one little DD. I love them all equally.

Personality wise I have favourites for different times.

One is fab for sitting watching boxed sets and generally slobbing with.
One is fab for advice/serious life choices.
One is fab for going out choosing clothes mooching round the shops.
The 6 year old is bright and happy and lovely :)

They are all great friends with me and each other and each would drop everything if called upon to do so for any of us. I would do the same and i know i am a very lucky woman to have them all in my life.

Isteamagoodham · 27/12/2020 19:01

My Dad always used to say that he wasn't his parents favourite... ...and he was an only child. Grin

Namenic · 27/12/2020 19:01

So different. But the bits I love best are when I see them playing together and getting along (short moments interspersed with fights, but so lovely when it happens).

DamsonJamFan · 27/12/2020 19:03

I don’t have a favourite at all. However we have quite different relationships. DS (Eldest) is very unsure of himself, often anxious and quite immature. He needs lots of support and encouragement to make small steps to independence and is very resistant to it. DD1 has a long term medical condition and we have spent lots of time in hospital together. However, she is fiercely independent and often fights agains help. DD2 is laid back, independent and quiet and although she is the youngest, she is the most mature. Therefore DD2 is the easiest.

mistletoeandsigh · 27/12/2020 19:04

No. My eldest is easier; she's six years older than the little one who is still pre school age. So it's easier to be around her, I don't need to do lots of chasing about. But I love and like them the same. I imagine a lot of parents, as their kids get older, find more in common with a particular child though.

Biscuitsneeded · 27/12/2020 19:05

I genuinely don't have a favourite but I love them very differently and at any given time could feel more warm and fluffy about one than the other - but that changes constantly. My mother had a very clear favourite (and it wasn't me) and I was really worried I would favour one in spite of myself, as I guess you can't help how you feel - but that hasn't happened at all. They are 13 and 15 now and I am so, so proud of and exasperated by both of them in equal measure - just at different times!

IamMariahScarey · 27/12/2020 19:06

Thank god I only have the 1. Sometimes she isn’t my favourite though, she can be a total nob. I much prefer the next doors cat on these days.

OxfordwillsaveusbyFebruary · 27/12/2020 19:06

Yes, the dog.

bloodyhairy · 27/12/2020 19:06

No, I hate them all equally GrinWink

Zoflorabore · 27/12/2020 19:07

Yes, I have a favourite son and a favourite daughter but I only have 2dcGrin

Ds was 8 when dd was born. We are extremely close and always have been, he’s almost 18 and is just so lovely.

My dd is almost 10. She’s exactly like me as a child personality wise! Doesn’t shut up, loves collecting things and loves shopping. She is a total daddy’s girl though and fully admits it but she loves our shopping trips and going with her daddy isn’t quite the same.

My mum definitely prefers my 2 younger brothers but I am the black sheep of the family....

OrangeGinLemonFanta · 27/12/2020 19:08

The 3yo has just gone to sleep so he is my favourite right now Grin joking aside, no, I really don't. They're both equally infuriating and wonderful, but they're both quite small. I may develop a favourite in later life if one of them grows up to be an absolute knobber, I suppose.

winterbabythistime · 27/12/2020 19:09

Whichever one is asleep Grin

LunaNorth · 27/12/2020 19:10

@megletthesecond

No. But one child is easier than the other. I get quite sad about it tbh.
So do I.
poppingpotatoes · 27/12/2020 19:10

Yes but it's not always the same child. Usually it's the one who has made me a cup of tea when they don't want something

Littleyell · 27/12/2020 19:10

@megletthesecond

No. But one child is easier than the other. I get quite sad about it tbh.
I think this is usually the case!
1Morewineplease · 27/12/2020 19:11

No.

Twobrews · 27/12/2020 19:11

No, they're all very different. Two are much much easier to be a parent to but when they're on form they are fantastic.

m0therofdragons · 27/12/2020 19:12

Whichever one is annoying me the least at any given time is my favourite. Dd2 is most like me so I get her but they all have qualities I admire and adore. They also have equally annoying qualities too.

tempnamechange98765 · 27/12/2020 19:12

It changes several times a day/night based on who is making my life more difficult Grin

grapewine · 27/12/2020 19:13

My mother does, and it isn't me. I hope those who do mask well. Most children can tell.

Ohdoleavemealone · 27/12/2020 19:13

No, they piss me off in equal amounts!
