Maybe people just don't post when things are going well, but the top 5 threads in my feed seem to be about a ruined Christmas, a fucked Christmas, a Christmas in tatters, someone who is fuming and someone else who didn't get to see her children open their stockings.

Mine has been amazeballs. Possibly my favourite ever.

parrotonmyshoulder · 25/12/2020 10:30

Yes, children didn’t get up till 7. They haven’t fallen out many times yet. Both happy with their presents. Just clearing up after breakfast and then I’ll have a long peaceful shower.
No awful in laws. I’m very happy.

BumBurnerBum · 25/12/2020 10:30

I am Smile
Happy daughter playing with her stocking presents and eating chocolate. My DH has just popped off to see his older 2 for a bit and we will do main presents when he's back and will have lunch.

Hope you're having a nice day.

ShirleyPhallus · 25/12/2020 10:30

Mine is just gorgeous. 9 month DD and we are in tier 4, so I was really hoping to spend Christmas with our family but now it’s just 3 of us it’s been lovely.

Very relaxing, we have had some bubbles in our pjs, lots of cuddles, DH has bought me some beautiful presents, we are currently watching a film and eating bacon sandwiches. Parents dropped over a box of gifts for us and for the baby. Feeling very grateful to have such lovely people in our lives and how happy we are. I realise it’s not like that for everyone and feel sorry for all those having a hard time today.

LivingOnAnIsland · 25/12/2020 10:30

Glad to hear it!

Yes I am :)

DSes got up at about 7 and DS2 cutely over excited.

Everyone happy with what they've got. The toddler is about to go for a nap so DH and I probably will too! DS1 12 will play online with his friends. Then we're going to stretch out lunch and have our starters for lunch and the roast for an early dinner. Maybe we'll go for a walk. Probably phone family at various points in the day.

CounsellorTroi · 25/12/2020 10:32

Yes. DH and I have had breakfast in bed, exchanged cards and are just getting up to put the bird in (Waitrose Duchy chicken).

WilsonMilson · 25/12/2020 10:32

Absolute shit here. Ffs. I’m so close to just crying. Trying to hold it together for ds.

AuldFox · 25/12/2020 10:32

Really lovely. Woke up late (teens woke up only slightly earlier) Husband is bringing me champagne breakfast in bed. Happy days!

Cabinfever10 · 25/12/2020 10:33

Just ds and I for Xmas this year and we're having a wonderful day. He's building his new lego set and I'm starting Xmas lunch and have some Xmas movies to watch later Xmas Smile

Briannaoftarth83 · 25/12/2020 10:33

Indeed! Most wonderful DH has played an absolute blinder with gifts, I've been well and truly spoiled and I'm currently in bed with a cup of tea , DS napping next to me whilst DH carries on with lunch (although I did get up at 5am to get the Turkey in so swings and roundabouts!).

I noticed the same with the threads but I suspect it's people's way to vent and it's a particularly tense time of year for lots of folk.

TLIMSISNW · 25/12/2020 10:34

I am. DC are playing quietly on their devices. DH and I have snuck to back to bed for an extended lie-in. We’re cooking roast later for my parents.

We usually have much larger Christmases but for obvious reasons we can’t this year. My grandmother is in her final days so we are taking shifts to sit with her. Apart from that, we are having a lovely time and feel very blessed, even though there’s so much strangeness and sadness at the moment.

MissBaskinIfYoureNasty · 25/12/2020 10:34

Really good Grin I normally struggle massively with my mental health every Christmas. This year I am excited and positive and enjoying it! My kids have been so, so excited and loved every present. They're getting stuck in with new toys now, got some Christmas stuff on tv, breakfast was delicious and the baby has knackered herself out playing with wrapping paper and is fast asleep on my chest. Absolute bliss.

Mrgrinch · 25/12/2020 10:34

Just had the exact same top 5, so depressing.

I'm enjoying it already, Christmas breakfast done, presents opened and making a start on the dinner.

Xiaoxiong · 25/12/2020 10:35

Kids happy with presents so far, DH loves his from me, we had a lovely brunch with fresh croissants and smoked salmon and a big group zoom call with my family. Looking forward to cooking in an hour or so (I love to cook so this will be fun not stressful), more presents, meal, big walk in the sunshine, queen's speech, zoom DH's family, zoom cocktails with friends, early night!

The sun is shining and sky is blue, we have many vaccines being rolled out for covid, we have a Brexit deal, and we are all healthy. Happy Christmas everyone!

unicornparty · 25/12/2020 10:36

I'm having an awesome time Grin

psychomath · 25/12/2020 10:36

I am so far but I only got up five minutes ago Xmas Grin So plenty of time for it to go wrong still Xmas Wink

AllDoneIn · 25/12/2020 10:37

Trying very hard to enjoy it. DC and DH all in good form. We are warm and will be well fed later. Happy Christmas all.

FallingStar · 25/12/2020 10:37

@LivingOnAnIsland Yes thank you, we've had a nice relaxed day so far! Dinner is on the go but not stressful as we're only having my mum over, kids are happy and I felt baby no3 move for the first time in the night Grin

Hope you're having a lovely day too.

ChristmasPerfectionist · 25/12/2020 10:37

Having a lovely day so far!

Terracottasaur · 25/12/2020 10:38

It’s a bit of a strange one, but I’ve just quietly sat feeding my 3 week old baby while listening to carols and that made me feel truly happy and content.

Beachhuts90 · 25/12/2020 10:39

I'm having a lovely Christmas. Still in my PJs and full of cinnamon rolls, and some lovely presents too.

yelyah22 · 25/12/2020 10:39

Yes! First time just the two of us, no driving about - some nice presents from family, new pyjamas on, lying here on the sofa eating chocolate before we have a few drinks and prep Christmas dinner in a bit.. the chilled Christmas day I wanted!

Bunbunbunny · 25/12/2020 10:40

We're still in bed, just me and DH. Been long week glad for the lie in

Marzipan12 · 25/12/2020 10:41

Lovely quiet and waiting for my teen to wake up. There's no expectations this year and no stress which actually makes it so much nicer. Will do this every year.
