Maybe people just don't post when things are going well, but the top 5 threads in my feed seem to be about a ruined Christmas, a fucked Christmas, a Christmas in tatters, someone who is fuming and someone else who didn't get to see her children open their stockings.

It was a lovely Christmas with just the four of us at home. DH and DS made a delicious roast dinner, we all got nice presents. It was a good end to an awful year.

I had a brilliant day - best Christmas I've had for many years.

DH came earlier in with my tea as I lay in bed, and declared it to be the best Christmas ever. As I mentioned upthread, DS and DP and DGC are with us. Our DIL is just wonderful, so helpful and appreciative of the efforts to give her vegan food. “What deliciousness are you making now Tricky?”, is something I will remember a long time.
Especially nice to have them with us as next year they will be going abroad to stay with DIL’s family, and little DGS, 3.5, loved every minute of his Christmas Day.
DH and DS are currently fixing the Ring doorbell and security lights which were our presents from them and our other DS.
We are all happy.

Quick update: everything went fine. Enjoyed Xmas day and went away for a long weekend. Nearly got snowed in there. All is fine.
