is there a 'clique' on MN?? my posts just get ignored/ unnoticed/disregarded

maybe i am just being paranoid, but i only joined last week and have tried on numerous occasions to join in the threads and it all seems a bit cliquey, anyone else feel the same? or is it just me?

I was thinking "who the hell is LNSHL?" I forgot I was wearing my holiday name (littlelapin usually). After Halloween, you won't recognise half the people here, they'll change to Christmas names! (LittleMissFestive?)

things can move pretty fast, when i first joined i found it quite tough, but if you join the teashop/bar threads its a great way to get "known"

Hi LittleMissTroubled! I joined MN back in May (usual name LilolilManchester, but trying to get into the Halloween name change spirit!)and went through very much the same as you are doing now. I think most new members do.
I used to get paranoid when no-one answered my threads, or when I posted a response and then killed the thread. But when I've really needed advice, MN usually has come up trumps. Good advice already been given about time of day and bumping at a different time of day if need be.
I think there are some cliques, just as in RL, but you just have to ignore that. Post on threads that interest you, start your own threads when you feel like it. Don't take it personally if people don't respond. Is this your usual nickname, or have you changed for this post?

I've been here years but 80% of my posts are ignored - its often the way on such a fast moving boards. People inevitably respond more to names they recognise.

no seriously, if i post on anything, (which isnt often, im just bored stiff today) i usually get a reply back,
mis spelt and in a chavvy tone.

and just think about this thread - have you responded to every reply you got? Do you think every post got replied to by someone - obviously not.

Boco - start a thread about it. There are loads of places that offer free sites, mostly with templates and wizards so you don't need to know much/anything about pooters to get set up. I can always give you tips (web designer)
