I’ve been furloughed so I’m watching far too much Netflix.

Anyway, I’ve just binged Life on Mars and I’m now on Ashes to Ashes, and can I just say that Gene Hunt makes me swoon. To quote a mumsnet classic, he gives me the fanny gallops!

I didn't even get the ick from that episode where he's wearing white shoes.

I also fancied PG rotten back in the Clocking Off days. The man has buckets of charisma.

But Gene Hunt, what a character! A total gift to someone like PG. Unforgettable.

@MaggieFS I said at the start of this thread, it's his eyes. He has the most beautiful eyes.

"I'm 'avin 'oops" has got to be one the best lines in TV history! It's up there with Spike's "Out For A Walk. Bitch." (Buffy in case there's a line soul out there who's unfamiliar)

Re the Gene Hunt babysitting and changing nappies I can actually see it but he would no doubt whinge and groan and moan but when alone with said baby or children I think he would do just fine .

I watched the final of series one last night and tried to see Gene Hunt in a different light, but just couldn't.

I've now downloaded the first series and start watching today.

I met the actor who plays Chris Skelton in our local shopping Center once. You know you do that thing where you know a face and you think it’s probably someone you were at school with so you say ‘hi! How are you?’

Given that my current detective crush is a one-legged, chain smoking commitmentphobe I suspect I'd like Gene Hunt.

My nephew used to be at nursery with Phillip G's son but I've never watched any of them.

He's a very good actor and has a certain charisma as Gene Hunt, but I don't find him at all attractive physically. He's fun to watch in these shows, but I'd steer clear of someone like him in real life.
