So We're all stuck in as we know. I have a newborn and a 2.5yo, and DH wfh so most of my day is chaos with one millisecond of the day to myself. Oh and its my birthday this week (woooo).
I've not spent any money of late as DH does our food shop (I cover all bills and budgeted some spending money for mat leave). I am still in mat clothes thanks to not being able to get new ones I can fit in but I am comfy and reluctant to have to return items. I am generally not someone that spends money on myself, it mostly goes on the kids.

But like most, I am low and anxious, and want to 'treat' myself but no idea where to start in the current climate.

So has anyone treated themselves and if so what, why and did it work??

A beautiful new pair of pyjamas and a cosy hoodie. On a more optimistic note: a pair of sandals and I am already eyeing up a second pair.

I got a sweatshirt from Scamp & Dude, it's the comfiest thing I've had in ages!

I did,two pairs of Swarovski earrings from John Lewis, they had 40% discount.

Have worn them every day since Friday, seen no one at all, even when I walk my dog,but they have cheered me up.

Mine hasn't arrived yet but I've ordered a Victorian style 100% cotton nightie for the summer. I love my bed and sleep is precious so I happily pay a bit more for good quality bedding and so thought I'd get a nice nightie as well.

I’m buying fresh flowers every week.

I ordered some 'loungewear' for WFH so I can be comfy but also presentable on video calls, then last night I decided to treat myself to my favourite Crabtree and Evelyn hand cream.
It's also mine and DP's anniversary next week and we wouldn't normally bother getting each other presents but have decided to treat each other this year so I have an expensive bottle of gin on the way too from DP Smile

carlywurly · 14/04/2020 22:11

A weekly veg and bakery box and a bottle of perfume.
And a load of kindle books but I do that anyway Smile

New bedding Smile

Best things:
1)Comfy wooly socks - best thing about lockdown is not caring if anyone can see visible socks. I'm wearing them with ankle grazers and everything.
2) a cosy fleece blanket to wrap up in when I'm starting wfh at 6am
( it's still freezing here)

Also:
3) Les Mills on demand subscription (so far, i'm not getting my money's worth, it has to be said
4) a New Scientist subscription.

I think I might invest in an outdoor bean bag for the garden, as I'm spending much more time than usual there supervising the kids.

Rainbow film for the windows
Easter eggs

I did an online Boots shop for a load of boring bathroom bits (razors, verruca treatments, anti-histamines, cotton buds etc) and then added the Soap & Glory gift box (was £25, hope that's a good price?) never having used a single one of their products. I'll let you know if it 'worked' when it gets here. Have also ordered a couple of wax melts from ebay.

Wine Wine

But my dc are older - probably not useful for parents with toddlers to run after...

We've ordered a load of outdoor flowers to plant from an online garden centre. That makes me happy.

Huntmychicken · 14/04/2020 22:15

Decleor face mask and a few bits from The Ordinary

BananaSpanner · 14/04/2020 22:15

Some Ted Baker sliders.

Fionplease · 14/04/2020 22:15

A bottle of kirkuvagr aurora gin - my absolute favourite.

PositiveLife · 14/04/2020 22:15

I've ordered garden chairs for all of us (no doubt the sun will disappear as soon as they arrive Grin)

I've also ordered myself some beauty stuff from elf. My skin is really dry so I've got face masks and moisturiser.

I've treated one of the kids to some books and the other got extra for her birthday.

Yippity · 14/04/2020 22:16

Subscribed to the 30 day shred.
Ordered several bottles of perfume, some nice facial oil and body scrub.
I’m looking for some loungewear, but not having much success...

Ceebs85 · 14/04/2020 22:17

2 hair bands and a pair of earrings from fatface. Wanted to buy things I definitely don't need as a proper treat

JenNtonic · 14/04/2020 22:18

ALLLL the Nip&Fab stuff.... ALL of it 😳

Macncheeseballs · 14/04/2020 22:21

Try and start spending money on yourself rather than putting others first all the time

BarbarAnna · 14/04/2020 22:21

I have bought a really decent frying pan with lid (following a fondant potato fail). It has made me so happy I have now bought a matching saucepan.
Also some oversized t shirts and a salt lamp.

AftonGlen · 14/04/2020 22:22

I just ordered new pyjamas, a beautiful dressing gown and slippers. I have been putting every last penny towards doing up my house so this is a rare treat! I love the feeling of new PJs.
