So We're all stuck in as we know. I have a newborn and a 2.5yo, and DH wfh so most of my day is chaos with one millisecond of the day to myself. Oh and its my birthday this week (woooo).
I've not spent any money of late as DH does our food shop (I cover all bills and budgeted some spending money for mat leave). I am still in mat clothes thanks to not being able to get new ones I can fit in but I am comfy and reluctant to have to return items. I am generally not someone that spends money on myself, it mostly goes on the kids.

But like most, I am low and anxious, and want to 'treat' myself but no idea where to start in the current climate.

So has anyone treated themselves and if so what, why and did it work??

Bubble bars from Etsy!
And coffee from a small roaster online, but that's a necessity (and easier than getting a supermarket slot).

Biffsboys · 14/04/2020 22:40

Wine and some expensive face cream

mouldygrapes · 14/04/2020 22:40

12 bottles of lovely wine from Majestic

GinisLife · 14/04/2020 22:40

A dress I've been lusting after for weeks and weeks. It was too expensive but I've bought it anyway. It kept popping up in my FB feed because I'd looked at it lots of times. It's a winter dress so the suns come out 🤣

.A Neom diffuser and refill

A Shark vacumn

Another (much much) cheaper dress that I'd been viewing. I've worn it round the house today.

ALbigbump · 14/04/2020 22:43

A lay z spa. We’ve used it twice a day since it arrived. It certainly takes the edge off!

hannabarbera · 14/04/2020 22:43

Garden furniture. What else do you do? Apart from cleaning?

A stove top kettle that's yellow and whistles and has bumble bees on it 😳

Ilovelblue · 14/04/2020 22:45

I'm fed up of wearing old clothes for being out in the garden (I am a very keen gardener and it's a busy time of year in the garden) and for dog walking so when I've done the supermarket shop, I've worn some of my better clothes and put loads of perfume out. I'm easily pleased!

I've started using my "best" shower gels each morning - the lovely smells do perk me up.

I've placed an order with Hoods Honey for several handwashes. I discovered the brand when up in Edinburgh just before Christmas and they are absolutely gorgeous and quite reasonably priced.

Busymum45 · 14/04/2020 22:46

Can't afford to buy anything nice atm!

asprinklingofsugar · 14/04/2020 22:47

I've ordered some new jeans as my old ones are wearing thin in awkward places Blush and the brand I like were having a sale, and still had my size! And I bought some cosy socks too.

WaterIsWide · 14/04/2020 22:47

But surely non-essential purchases are putting people's lives at risk in picking, packing and delivering them though?

There, now that didn't take long now did it ?

AgentCooper · 14/04/2020 22:47

A lovely jumpsuit from the Biden sale. It’s stretchy jersey so will be comfy but looks a good bit smarter than my manky old jeggings and jumpers. I miss wearing nice clothes to work.

AgentCooper · 14/04/2020 22:48

Sorry, Boden not Biden Grin

OhTheRoses · 14/04/2020 22:48

Poplin smock dresses, 1 pink and 1 dark blue, to cover Lockdown Belly - a bit of a swish when out is always cheering.

150 bulbs.

everythingisginandroses · 14/04/2020 22:49

Books - lots of books. Posh cheese and chocolate.

CakeandCoffeeQueen · 14/04/2020 22:49

I got myself a beautiful antique pendant, i’m really enjoying it

allfurcoatnoknickers · 14/04/2020 22:49

I am very good at spending money on myself. I've bought some nice joggers for working from home in a variety of fun patterns (pain splatter, rainbow lightening bolts, leopard print and gold stars)

I also love to cook, so treated myself to a load of posh new cookware - including a Le Creuset cast iron pan I've lusted after for ages.
