So We're all stuck in as we know. I have a newborn and a 2.5yo, and DH wfh so most of my day is chaos with one millisecond of the day to myself. Oh and its my birthday this week (woooo).
I've not spent any money of late as DH does our food shop (I cover all bills and budgeted some spending money for mat leave). I am still in mat clothes thanks to not being able to get new ones I can fit in but I am comfy and reluctant to have to return items. I am generally not someone that spends money on myself, it mostly goes on the kids.

But like most, I am low and anxious, and want to 'treat' myself but no idea where to start in the current climate.

So has anyone treated themselves and if so what, why and did it work??

A new iPad 🙈 as we are due DC2 in the next few weeks and it’s looking like it may come early leading to a hospital stay.

And then a big order of nice things from Lush shampoo bars/soaps/bath bombs etc

Also had to upgrade my phone as the speaker has gone on my current one 🙈

Too much gin and an eyebrow pencil!

I'm in the market for a long line hoody and some nice thick socks for wfh in

Wishing we'd got our decking done last summer like we'd planned to and bought a hot tub. Grrr

Ilovelblue thank you for recommendation for Hoods Honey. My order has arrived and they have beautiful products. Got Scottish Honey Rum hand cream (it is really amazing), candle, lip balm and hand/body wash. And honey of course! So pleased. Little treats do make a difference at this time.

Other treats included blue and green eye liner and make up setter from Urban Decay, pair of gorgeous shoes on sale from Shoe Embassy and just giscovered that this weekend they have 20% on everything included sale. Gutted!

I ordered a new iPad today!
This is massive deal for me both financially and also I hate new things.
It was less of a pick me up though. My current iPad keeps failing on me. To be fair it is an iPad 2 and very old. I will be most impressed at being able to download and use apps I think!
I a bit worried about it really. I not good at learning new things and I just by my own in lockdown but friends/family have said it will be so similar it will be ok
But hate the thought this one is going to give up completely (it keeps threatening it!) so took the plunge.

Some Body Shop bits as my friend's daughter has started selling it and wanted to support her. To be fair the grapefruit soap is lush!

A mahoorive cross stitch kit. The Great Wave of Kanagawa if you're familiar with the painting, it's about 2 feet across by 1 foot high, all blues and creams and it's DAUNTING.

Aim to be finish by Christmas, we better bloody be out of nealry all of these restrictions by then.

Cricket Term, Antonia Forest.

£13 for a paperback. And it doesn’t last. Got it yesterday morning, finished by mid afternoon.

Money well spent. Grin

Bridecilla · 16/05/2020 09:12

Well I've just discovered that Amazon sell gin... ooops

ineedto · 16/05/2020 09:33

Week one we treated everyone to new bedding. It wasn't cheap but definitely been well used and all washing well so far. We have also had take away once a week plus fresh flowers.

My own treats have been jo malone bath and body products plus a bottle of perfume. Clothes etc I would have purchased anyway.

An adapter with multiple USB (all my i-devices are now tidy).
Ear pods, so I can go about my business in the kitchen while elderly parents ramble down the phone.
Rosemary, thyme, sage, mint and parsley plants
A basting syringe (how did I live this long without one?)
A second white bathrobe
A KitchenAid
