Pissed off at being pulled over by friend AIBU

I was out with a friend who has issues walking. She’s the same size as me. The ground was uneven so she held onto me to offer more support which was fine, she joked and said if I fall over your coming with me.

She did fall over & I did go with her. I am actually pretty pissed off. Am I being a little precious? I don’t want to overreact.

I didn’t hurt myself bad just a banged knee & bruises etc.

Yeah, you're being unreasonable.

GruciusMalfoy · 15/02/2020 20:49

Why are you annoyed? I'm sure she wouldn't have done it deliberately.

user1473878824 · 15/02/2020 20:50

She has issues walking, she hardly just shoved you over. Get a grip. Did she hurt herself?

IndecentFeminist · 15/02/2020 20:51

If I was walking with a friend who was unsteady on uneven ground I would offer an arm, and be braced for a potential trip. Are you resenting her for needing your help? I'm not sure what you're annoyed about tbh.

Tombliwho · 15/02/2020 20:51

Hmm I'm sure she meant to fall and drag you down intentionally.

Yesmate · 15/02/2020 20:51

Your friend has trouble walking and she fell as a result of that. Boo hoo that you fell too, probably happens to her a lot. Have a bit of empathy for her mobility issues. Pop a plaster on and try to be a better friend.

sonjadog · 15/02/2020 20:51

Why would be annoyed? Do you think she fell over on purpose?

PurpleDaisies · 15/02/2020 20:52
Hmm

Do you think she did it on purpose?

Iamthewombat · 15/02/2020 20:52

I thought you were going to say that your friend was a traffic officer and pulled you over for speeding or being drunk!

Thetellyisjelly · 15/02/2020 20:53

is she a friend or do you secretly hate her? Hmm

RalphWiggumsWedgie · 15/02/2020 20:54

Wut? Confused

user1483387154 · 15/02/2020 20:54

you are being ridiculous

TitianaTitsling · 15/02/2020 20:54

Reverse?

adaline · 15/02/2020 20:54

So she has issues walking and needed help, and you're pissed off that you fell over? Hmm

LipsyGirl · 15/02/2020 20:55

Ok. Thank you. I understand I am perhaps being pathetic. Thanks for your replies

I'd be mildly irritated. If you're falling over you let go of the other person... not drag them with you.

Yesmate · 15/02/2020 20:57

No perhaps about it. I have mobility issues and my friends help me. I would be horrified if they got hurt but they are actual friends and wouldn’t bitch about it after. Why don’t you just not help her on future. With friends like you she’s probably better off.

AliceDownARabbitHole · 15/02/2020 20:59

I am assuming she didn't actually pull you over on purpose though. 🙄

Sparklesocks · 15/02/2020 21:00

Well she has issues walking, and most likely didn’t mean to fall, so it seems a bit mean to be angry at you.

Sparklesocks · 15/02/2020 21:00

*at her

Blackdog19 · 15/02/2020 21:00

Why are you pissed off? Because she fell and didn’t let you go? I feel more sorry for your friend to be honest.

LipsyGirl · 15/02/2020 21:00

I think I’m annoyed at it as she didn’t just pull me down with her, she literally dragged me down. But I guess IABU so thanks for your comments

I'm going to go slightly against the grain here. If she has walking issues, does she need support from a stick or walker? My "D"M needs either of those but for sone reason insists on leaving them behind if I take her out. She is taller and heavier than me and seems to think she can lean on me instead of a stick. I politely decline and it really does limit where we can go but it's her choice to leave her stick behind.

ILoveMyCaravan · 15/02/2020 21:02

I have mobility issues. I frequently fall over. I fell once and pushed my young son into the road. Complete accident and awful. Clearly I didn't do it on purpose.
