YABU

Megxit is brilliant relief from the misery of early January.

Brimful · 09/01/2020 09:28

YABU. There are plenty of threads about this.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 09/01/2020 09:29

You're spot on OP.

They just need to stop talking. They have verbal diaharrea, the pair of them.

Lardlizard · 09/01/2020 09:30

Brimful so what, there’s millions of threads about breastfeeding so should no one ever start another !!

You are either in or out
Not one door in both lives that is really taking the piss

OP posts:
BorneoBabe · 09/01/2020 09:34

I'm 100% for it, but yeah, you can't keep all the good bits ($$) and forget about the actual work that goes with it.

And the comment about 'working towards financial independence' was staggeringly oblivious to the rest of us plebs muddling along.

KC225 · 09/01/2020 09:37

They went away for 6 weeks. No one even knew where they were.

Six weeks later 'hello we're back and we're going now - for good. Are you looking? Are you still looking because we really are going'

All they had to do was quietly write a cheque for the renovations on the cottage, decline their state pocket money, step back and wind things down without making a big old show about it all.

Cantuccit · 09/01/2020 09:37

YABU because I hate vague OPs. What on earth are you on about.

OllyBJolly · 09/01/2020 09:37

working towards financial independence

Wish posters would stop trotting this out. They are not allowed to earn money while taking money from the civil list (or whatever it is called now). By breaking the chains they can go and be whoever they want to be and do what they want. Good luck to them. I hope they'll be very happy.

It would be great if the rest of the Royal Family would bugger off too. I am no royalist but the vitriol and racism unleashed by this announcement is bloody staggering. Absolutely shameful.

Lardlizard · 09/01/2020 09:39

KC225 So true ! Like when someone announcing they are leaving here ! Or Facebook or whatever

Oh God,yes, this with bells on. It's such attention grabby nonsense.Hmm

BorneoBabe · 09/01/2020 09:41

@OllyBJolly They are millionaires many times over. No need to wean. It was ridiculous to include it.

Mrsjayy · 09/01/2020 09:41

Megxit Grin that is brilliant.

Of course he wants his cake and eat it working towards financial independence statement made me lol he is worth millions in his own right is that not enough to live on ?

Sparklingbrook · 09/01/2020 09:42

YABU to start the bajillionth thread on this.

Bluntness100 · 09/01/2020 09:42

They aren't really breaking the chains though, they still wish to do a reduced rota of royal engagements, they wish their security paid for and supplied, they wish to continue to have frogmor cottage as their U.K. base, and they still wish the queen/Charles to pay for them, they currently pay 95 percent of their costs today, the tax payer 5. So by removing the tax payer they only reduce their income by 5 percent. They also wish to maintain their royal titles.

So I'm not sure I'd agree they have broken the chains, as the op says they want both worlds, on their terms.

ItIsTheWay · 09/01/2020 09:43

Ricky Gervais should repeat a GG and Emily Mathias should have a chat with Harry, no self awareness, full of hypocrisy and entitlement, I don't need Harry lecturing me how to live and expect me fund him.

GreatBigOnion61 · 09/01/2020 09:44

Not sure he has a choice in having to keep one foot in.

I get the impression he’d be off sharpish if he could.

I respect his decision. I think they all need to be financially independent.

I cannot bear the Royals but don’t mind these two because they seem decent people. He didn’t ask to be born into that! He’s getting his arse out. Good on him.

Samcro · 09/01/2020 09:44

yabu. there are countless threads, yet you started another.

Mrsjayy · 09/01/2020 09:45

That stupid south african documentary was their nail I think with their poor us nonsense after juat visited townshipsHmm I used to like them but they are both seem attention seeking divas with zero self awareness !

Sparklingbrook · 09/01/2020 09:46

Yes there are loads of threads about BF but not all saying exactly the same thing and over two days...

We need a topic.

YesThatsATurdOnTheRug · 09/01/2020 09:48

I don't blame them after what they've been through the past 12 months.

Bluntness100 · 09/01/2020 09:48

I get the impression he’d be off sharpish if he could

Nah. It's very clear he's doing exactly as he pleases without consultation. If he wanted to be off, he would be. So he doesn't wish to be,

Lardlizard · 09/01/2020 09:49

YABU sparkling if your wasting your time, to post on this thread, to moan about there’s too many threads
Like like people that waste their time
Typing on posts zzzzz or boring

Go and start your own thread about something else ! Oh thought not !

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 09/01/2020 09:49

That’s me told. 🤣

Sparklingbrook · 09/01/2020 09:51

I might start a thread about how there’s too many threads about Harry and Meghan and we need a topic. Grin

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 09/01/2020 09:51

Or people could post in the royal topic area
Just a suggestion
