But if they hadn't "announced" it, it was about to be leaked by the press. Like it or not, it would've made the news either way.
Does anyone know how The Sun newspaper got to know about it in such detail that they were going break the story?
If it were me, I would have let the press publish the story and I would have been respectful and informed the Queen personally. The media would speculate but, until the final details had been we worked out, it should have been kept secret. I feel H&M were too concerned about being in control of the process.
They cant just up and go, it is a process.
It is a process. The idea had been touched on with the RF some time ago and I feel H&M should have continued the process, accelerating it if necessary, in private and with respect for the Queen. I feel they have been disrespectful, controlling and selfish.
I don't think we can have royals who are 1/2 in and 1/2 out. If they want out then they need to relinquish titles, homes, funding, security and become private citizens. I would respect them more if they did that than wanting to be royals working towards financial independence. I believe they want to retain their titles because they they will exploit them in order to derive an income from their trademarked SussexRoyal.com. Remove the royal titles and let them be private citizens.
To the press: If they do become private citizens then, please, give them the privacy they profess to want. Please do not inflict any more stories about them on us.
