If you want to leave fine, goodbye
But you can’t be half in half out !

I thought the walking down the aisle all on her own before the Prince Charles bit was staged.

A bit like: 'poor little me-all on my own-tremulous, vulnerable and bravely smiling. No-one to stand by me-so my prospective in-law had to gently guide me to my intended. Even my mum sat on her own. Poor, poor, little ol' me.'

I mean, for ffs, she's been married twice before-a woman well of the world, behaving like a shy virgin bride-completely staged but well staged, so that everyone fell for it.

Wouldn't have been at all surprised if she hadn't consulted a professional scriptwriter to come up with it!

Scarsthelot · 11/01/2020 09:49

She's been married twice before?

paulinespeaksmanylanguages · 11/01/2020 09:55

Married once and common law marriage with some Canadian chef.

itswonkylampshade · 11/01/2020 10:03

In other words, married once before!

paulinespeaksmanylanguages · 11/01/2020 10:03

Point is she has been round the block-good luck to her-but why re-invent herself as a tremulous bride to be.

Waling down the aisle by herself(written by a script-writer I imagine) and no bridesmaids was also handy as it meant, as well as looking vulnerable-all attention was on her.

I don't like her. I don't like him. Nauseating the way they fill with pity when thinking about their plight! Even when they meet real victims in life they can only think of their own misery.

If life is that hard, they need to go and lie down somewhere and not inflict their appalling self pity on the rest of us!

Grown man unable to get over the death of his mother would be bad enough but for that grown man to be one of the most privileged people in the world is simply gross. He needs to wake up and look around him.

Frothybothie · 11/01/2020 10:05

Surprised there are so many "stop talking about it and your a racist if your beastly to Megan". Remind me what number of thread on The Trump hate, the Boris hate, the Brexit hate.

paulinespeaksmanylanguages · 11/01/2020 10:06

I don't care where they live-Disney maybe where she can be a real Disney Princess- but hope they don't make another penny.

I add money grubbing to the list of reasons not to like them!

Off they fuck...great!

The80sweregreat · 11/01/2020 10:08

There was some speculation that Meghan may have been married twice before and not once.
I did read today that talks were going well regarding all this and how it might work out.
I can imagine the palace will cobble something together and ( hopefully) this story may drop out the news and they can crack on with voice over work and charities and sock selling and they will be blissfully happy back and forth ( I've a feeling he will be back and forth )
Till he has to be in the vicinity of his family again then it'll all be back in the papers and Prince Wills will scowl at him and Kate will be nice to him and the journalists will have more to write about it all , or his granddad will die or something else will happen and it'll all blow up again! They have always provided so much newspaper fodder over the years.

The80sweregreat · 11/01/2020 10:18

They have a long way to go in money terms to be a rich as Roger Federer who is now a billionaire according to the papers.
H and M are quite 'poor 'compared to him.
I'm no fan of Roger as a player , but his earned every penny of it even if a lot is sponsored or adverts or just interest or whatever. Goes to show that being rich is also a competition and you can be poorer than your rich mates even with millions in the bank! It's another world.

Leighhalfpennysthigh · 11/01/2020 10:21

Why is Kate a terrible role model? Is it because her main role seems to be to have had children and be inoffensive and polite

It's more to do with the fact that before she was married and had children she did fuck all other than work in little jobs created by her parents and friends of her parents. All that education wasted.

paulinespeaksmanylanguages · 11/01/2020 10:25

What a narrow view of education. Use it to get a 'career' or it counts for nothing!

How odd.

LaurieMarlow · 11/01/2020 10:37

I mean, for ffs, she's been married twice before

Why are people spreading bollocks? What does that say about you that you’d do that?

why re-invent herself as a tremulous bride to be

In what sense was she doing that? Confused. If she’d been accompanied by a rake of flower girls and bridesmaids I’m sure you’d be interpreting that in the worst possible light too.

LaurieMarlow · 11/01/2020 10:41

I quite like Kate, but let’s face it, she’s

  1. a baby maker
  2. a clothes horse
  3. a nice, docile presence who does what she’s told

That seems to be exactly what the public want from royalty, which is the depressing thing,

No reflection on her, she’s probably smart for giving people what they want.

However, it’s brought into even sharper focus what a nonsense all this royal charade is.

We need to get rid of the whole lot of them.

Fair play to the Sussexes for leading the charge.

crispysausagerolls · 11/01/2020 10:48

Someone posted this on another thread - interview ihr the Royal photographer. Very interesting.

If Katherine hadn't married a Prince she would have carried on with her old jobs and just married someone like her sister Pippa did and nobody would have even known who the Middletons were outside their own friends and families. She would have just had an ordinary life.
She did have a good education and degree and could now work too I guess but how hard would that be now she is a royal?
I'm not really a fan of any of them but it is unrealistic for people to say she could just 'go out to work ' : I doubt it would even be allowed , unless it's for their royal duties.
She is also a mum of three. I know she may have oodles of help and back up and not on the school run every single day but she is still their mum and must be involved in the day to day running of their lives. It works differently to how my life was with children but some aspects must be the same : I bet she's more involved with all that than the Queen was with her children and they do seem a happy family , even if looks can be deceiving. She is close to her own family and seems rather a stable sort of person. Not that I've ever met her of course but you can tell a lot from her demeanour and I think she seems happy with how it all works.

I know it seems I'm sticking up for her but for people to say ' she could do this and that' winds me up as she really can't , as it stands at the moment anyway.
She is just different to Meghan and that's what some people can't cope with. It's like comparing apples and oranges.

crispysausagerolls · 11/01/2020 11:00

Kate does exactly what she is supposed to do. Not sure what there is to criticise about that.

beanaseireann · 11/01/2020 11:02

AraGrand " I bet Charles regrets walking her to the aisle now."
I couldn't agree more.

I too read that she had bern married twice before Harry. I wasn't sure if it was true.

DuchessofWoke · 11/01/2020 11:08

We need to get rid of the whole lot of them. Fair play to the Sussexes for leading the charge

Your comment would be valid were Meghan to return to acting and Harry to get a job - both without royal titles.

Instead, they want to mooch off the reputation of the institution for which you have so much disdain. So they want to ditch the hard, boring bits but have everyone else maintain the aura and prestige for them so they can harness it and merchandise it for themselves.

Gosh, how noble.

LaurieMarlow · 11/01/2020 11:15

Instead, they want to mooch off the reputation of the institution for which you have so much disdain ... so they can harness it and merchandise it for themselves.

We live in a capitalist society. I have no issue whatsoever with people making money for themselves in this way. You use what you have.

If the public wants to buy into ‘the brand’ then absolutely fine. I wouldn’t personally, but I can imagine there being a market.

I’m not sure where ‘noble’ comes into it. I don’t regard the institution as noble at all (lol, look at it Grin).

Susiesoap7 · 11/01/2020 11:15

All I can say is, get off the pity potty, Harry n Meghan and grow up for heavens sake!

Mrsjayy · 11/01/2020 11:22

I dont know why catherine is seen as wasted education lots of wealthier peoples kids skip about in the family business or go on telly like the made in chelsea lot they have all had private education degrees from good universities and they are arsingabout on television those are the terrible role models not a woman who married a Prince.

BonnesVacances · 11/01/2020 11:37

Much like Brexit, this is a very helpful issue to reveal people's vile attitudes.

I've always said that people show you who they are by how they presume other people to behave. I think that is very true in this case. Some posters on here have shown just how nasty they are and some of the things I've read are jaw-dropping. I can only hope you manage to hide such an unpleasant side of you in RL.

If I heard any one of my friends speaking about someone they don't know like this and casting such spurious allegations based on tabloid stories, I'd lose a whole load of respect for them. Some of you need to give your heads a wobble and channel nice thoughts.

MontStMichel · 11/01/2020 11:39

*I quite like Kate, but let’s face it, she’s

  1. a baby maker

I don’t see what wrong with that, if it’s what she wants. She may not have been ambitious in terms of wanting a great career; she may not be interested in politics and all she wants is to do her job, as a future Queen.

When we go to hospital, I imagine most people want a nurse who takes good care of them - they wouldn’t expect lectures on climate change or whatever the nurse’s political opinions were! That is what being a professional is - giving a good service! IMO, Kate puts on a public persona to do her job, as she sees it and we don’t have any idea what she is like in private, and that is no different from many of us at work.

mrshoho · 11/01/2020 11:56

@BonnesVacances I completely agree. I just don't understand how people appear to know what or how people they dont know think or feel. What it does show is how manipulating the press can be and the knives are truly out now that Meghan and Harry have shaken up the long standing agreements between the royal family and the media.

crispysausagerolls · 11/01/2020 12:11

The media are incredibly soft on the Royals. The agreement is in place to stop them from publishing stuff without permission - it’s a quid pro quo arrangement. Watch the interview worth the Royal Photographer.

They don’t publish paparazzi shots of Meghan. Or Kate. There are lots of things they don’t publish. Eg the topless photos of Kate.

Meghan and Harry will receive no such clemency in the US.
