It's wet, miserable and cold today. So, I'm thinking of making a goulash tonight, I'm searching recipes now.

I love a soup or stew for dinner when it's cold, with fresh buttery bread!

What are you having?

Broth! Lots of lovey veg, lentils, herbs. With whole meal bread and baked apples for pudding.

I have six apple trees. We will eat apple deserts everyday until Christmas 😂

ElizaDee · 09/09/2019 12:05

@ooopsupsideyourhead Sounds lovely. My mum has an apple tree, we have lots of crumbles Grin

WhatHaveIFound · 09/09/2019 12:08

Yesterday we had lamb curry & rice, today it's veggie chilli and sweet potato wedges.

ElizaDee · 09/09/2019 12:08

Toad in the hole with red onion gravy, peas and roast potatoes - can’t wait!

ElizaDee · 09/09/2019 12:09

@WhatHaveIFound Chilli & wedges is proper winter food! I never make chilli, I'll have to start.

I’m making a Penang tofu tonight. It’s one of my favourite meals

ElizaDee · 09/09/2019 12:10

@Furries I love toad-in-the-hole! I rarely make it though, I think I've only made it once in the last 5 years Shock

Busy night tonight so quorn southern coated burgers in whole meal buns with salad, coleslaw and wedges. Can’t wait.

Seafood risotto with peas tomorrow

Ithoughtyouwere · 09/09/2019 12:12

Chilli in the slow cooker today, first attempt for slow cooking it so not sure how it’ll turn out but it doesn’t half smell nice Grin.

ParrotsForLife · 09/09/2019 12:12

We’re having sausage casserole tonight

hipposarerad · 09/09/2019 12:12

We had roast chicken yesterday so today I'm using the leftovers in a pie with some streaky bacon. I've also got some sour cream left from Saturday's chilli to make the filling creamy. I'll do mash and veggies, the rest of the gravy from yesterday and make a stock from the bones to go in the freezer.

ElizaDee · 09/09/2019 12:13

@Ithoughtyouwere, I've got a slow cooker but never used it. I've heard that stuff comes out quite watery. Let us know how it comes out.

I love user-upper meals, it always tastes loads better.

I'm having a prawn and crab curry tonight. Other meals this week are lasagne, pulled pork spaghetti, a roast. Maybe a good beef stew too.

Monkeyseesmonkeydoes · 09/09/2019 12:18

Whipping up a red lentil, chickpea and chilli soup for tea tonight. Nom.
And just bought the ingredients to make a chicken pie for later in the week.

Vilanelle · 09/09/2019 12:19

Chunky beef and veg broth -first of the year and I can not wait.

Going to chops some cheese for on top and have ciabatta's to pop in oven

Pumpkinsalad · 09/09/2019 12:19

Tonight we're having a game pie with the last of the meat my husband shot last year from the freezer, with a port gravy, mash and home grown peas. I love comfort food. A pp has made me crave a broth now to

Ithoughtyouwere · 09/09/2019 12:19

@ElizaDee I’ve definitely put too much liquid in. Have googled how to fix it and am planning on taking the lid off and put it on high for the last hour and hoping that works! Might try some cornflower too?

@hipposarerad mmm sour cream with chilli - I don’t have any so might have to go get some now!

BiddyPop · 09/09/2019 12:20

I made a shepherd's pie yesterday, that is sitting in the oven with the timer set so that it will be hot and cooked at just about the time we're due home tonight.

It was going to be a lasagna but DD had that on Saturday night (restaurant on trip away).

Other plans this week include Chicken fajitas, a prawn curry and possibly a tomato sauce with pasta something or other....

Dontsweatthelittlestuff · 09/09/2019 12:22

I made a big pot of spaghetti yesterday. There is enough left for tonight and possibly a portion for the freezer.

Lndnmummy · 09/09/2019 12:22

We had a roast chicken last night too so I’m making a leftover pasta bake today with chicken and mushrooms. Then a less wholesome few days with fish fingers and chips etc

BiddyPop · 09/09/2019 12:22

(We had the leftover Christmas turkey - a whole breast - reheated in gravy made with turkey stock, along with roast potatoes and some veg on Friday night. Now that was a dinner that cheered us up! Xmas Grin).

ElizaDee · 09/09/2019 12:22

@Ithoughtyouwere Could you just spoon some water out? Press it down so you've only got water on it and take it out.
